That said, Oscar winning the sprint in Qatar was one of the few highlights of last year's season.

Yep, massive rumours at the moment. We shall see I guess, I can't see Max leaving without undue pressure from Jos. But Max to Merc would certainly be interesting.

All the Max/Red Bull stuff is still very speculative. Normally when this many outlets report it, you can take it as solid, but I wonder if the recent buzz around Lewis (and the prospect of another boring season) is making reliable outlets more likely to grasp at straws just for the clicks.

Jos saying the team may split apart if Horner stays is pretty major though, considering his role in Max's management.

I could see Max jump to Merc in 2026 with the new car / engine regulations. Not sure how good the in house RB / Ford engine will be, Then again Max has a contract till 2028 with RB if I remember correctly. Also there is Antonelli. Think Merc will rather give him a seat.

Edit : And Newey did say he regret not being with Ferrari at some point in his career. So maybe he decides to fulfill that dream like Lulu did.

I don't think any team in the world would miss the chance to take Max, assuming he finds a way out of his contract.

And Toto is on record as saying he regrets missing out on signing Max when he was looking for an F1 seat originally. Don't think he'd miss out again.
