esim on Vodacom iPhone

Hello, Can anyone confirm if an iPhone (13 mini) bought from Vodacom can have the esim activated (using Cell C in my case)?
I'm not sure if Vodacom locks the esim capabilities on their phones or not.
 
Sorry for hijacking thread, but why does MTN tell me I can't get eSIM.

I got this response a while ago: "Kindly be informed that Sales/Activation/Swap of e-SIMs has been suspended with immediate effect as we have reached the approved capacity by NCC."
 
Good luck getting them to activate it tho. Mention eSIM and watch their faces turn confused.
I don't need them to activate it. I have an esim from cellC. I'm just hoping the phone I get from Vodacom will have an active esim. I'm hoping that if I scan the QR Code the phone will activate the line

Hi Mike,
Can you confirm whether you were able to load the Cell C e-Sim with the Vodacom physical sim and that they worked? Can the e-sim be a data only sim… TIA

Sorta-kinda resurrecting this thread...

I have a use case where I have my QR Code from Vodacom but when I scan it asks me for a "Confirmation Code". Does anyone know what this is because Vodacom clearly doesn't (Apparently an OTP to device but have not received any).
 
Go in store ( phone and ask if they do it first, some don't ) The staff there will be able to help, took me 5 minutes and my E-sim just for data was up and running. I was fortunate enough to get a nice guy at the Vodacom at Brackenfell Centre, he wasn't lazy and clueless unlike 90% of Vodacom staff.
 
My issue is that I’ve received the QR code via mail. But no confirmation code via SMS. And my physical sim has already lost signal.
 
I had to wait 3 days for the confirmation code as i was doing a sim swap to e-sim on iphone. Vodacom sent the code to the number that i was sim swapping. Of course no SMS. They eventually woke up and e-mailed it. Even going into the a store won't help, as the Confirmation code is blanked out.
 
Yep I tried to call the call centre but yeah it’s masked to the call centre. Will wait a couple of days. Thanks.
