Escape from Tarkov | Battlestate

No idea? Don't think so? I have to ask.... Why?

Most straight guy's that play video games will often choose a female character if they have the choice.

So I would have probably bought this game if it had a female playable character.

I summon thy oldish thread...

I'm getting a bit gatvol with PUBG and bought Escape from Tarkov a few months ago and want to try it out, but seems like a manual is needed to properly understand how everything works.

I started watching a vid on the interwebs last night but that's about it.

Any tips from someone who actually played/plays it?

I have about 600-700 hours in tarkov. All you need is loads of tissues and bags of cement, wipe away those tears and harden the F up.

Seriously though, just learn the maps. The game is won through map knowledge and awareness. Positioning well can even get you kills on players that are far better at shooting.

Also get over gear fear, that is the biggest problem.

EFT Vet here! I have clocked more than 2000 hours and played through many wipes!

Tips? Don't be scared to die. See your money and gear as currency. That currency can be spent on character levels, trader levels or xp. Gear fear is what keeps most people form enjoying this game. With that said, TAKE YOUR TIME. This is not cod or battlefield, if you have to camp and wait for a threat to pass by, then do it. Be mindful of the noise you make. The learning curve is STEEP. Use your scav whenever it is available while you learn the game.

If that is the only hinderance, then I highly doubt this game is for you. :p

Pandatjie. You've played some Apex with me and J, you know I love Arma (over 1800 hours in Arma3), Squad and DayzMod (arma2). I've been eyeing Tarkov, Are it liking to be very plenty of much a game I can like to be playing?

Yis dude, the game is befok. The entire concept and realism is amazing, and it is unlike any of the 'other' realistic games. This is lekker brutal and hardcore. Within 2 months I went from the base game to the top edition, that is how enjoyable it was for me.

The game itself however, is not at a lekker place at the moment. There is a bunch of networking issues and some hassles with RNG on the armour and ammo types.

If you have ~R500 lying around, buy the standard edition. I am sure at some point they will sort those issues out. Then this game will be up there among the best I have played. Enough talking, buy the game. :D

I never know where the hell I am on the maps....nr 1 reason for not being able to extract gear
No man! There are so many visual guides and videos on the maps.

Take your hatchet and go run around. What do you have to lose?

Dankie.

I played with a mate the other day and what a refreshing change. Yes bugs and latency and what what else, but so does other AAA titles as well (not as much) and seriously a nice change of pace.

Latency, bugs and what what else never really bothered me in games. But EFT's networking seriously needs reworking.

As someone from a competitive background, it is very noticeable, especially in the latest patches. I've played since the first wipe. Had 2x characters all de wae to lvl 60/68, it is much worse than it was in those early days though. Check out Battle(nonsense) on youtube. He did a good video on the state of Tarkov's network.

Because of it I don't take the game seriously anymore though, I just play for the fun and try my best, my expectation is to die. Sometimes I can literally hear shots go off through a friends mic on Discord and after the mag is dumped the shooting starts in my game.

With that said, the game is still amazing and very playable. Just not to the try-hard level I would like to play it at.

Dude I'd love to hook up. I need someone to show me the ropes. I tried to play but found it soooo damn tough and then I moved back to Siege.

This is great news, I have wanted to get this since the free trial they had early last year! The only downer was the netcode which made it very difficult to play sometimes.
If anyone is selling a licensed and a reduced price feel free to PM me

See the EU version allows you to play anywhere as well.
Ok kewl, will be getting that
