Hey guys,

So if any of you Cape Townians are like me, you were super sad when OC closed its doors.

Some of us former crew have started a new path and are forming our own LAN called eHaven ( http://facebook.com/ehavenza ). We're having our first "test" LAN at UCT on the 4-5th July to test our new gear, servers, setup etc.. We'd love it if you could show your support and come join us for a relaxed weekend of gaming. Seats are R30 each - all gigabit.

If you're a keen bean, you can book online at eHaven - Book seats until the 30th of June. Otherwise come buy at the door. :)

We haven't a date for the next event. We're still scouring the city for a decent, easy to book venue. Games will be anything there is enough interest for really. We're open to hosting any servers the gamers want. The typical servers people want are the COD series, CS:S, DotA 2 (personally I'm a DotA 2 guy :D), Track Mania etc..

Just a question, will their be internet for things like Lol etc?

We're trying to organise internet for this LAN, yes. UCT has so many levels of people to go through to get things approved, but we're keeping our fingers crossed! We have realised from the outset that internet connection at LANs is a vital component to the gaming scene.

Some good news, campus IT has granted us an internet connection. Obviously not for downloading, but for some good gaming.

I just hope the weather plays along... How far is the parking from the venue?

Parking isn't too far away. I've uploaded a map indicating the various areas on our Facebook page.

Vastly off topic here but... is there anything like this in Pretoria that you guys might know of?

Looooong shot this one.....

Only one I know of in that direction is LibertyLAN and the NAG LAN happening at Rage. At R450 a ticket though, it's quiiiiite pricey.

So the LAN's tonight... would have liked to be there but can't make it :( Cape Town doesn't have enough LAN's, but have fun guys! Hopefully the next one won't be too far away :)

It was great :) internet wasn't THE BEST for gaming, but promptly used 90 gigs between the 50 lanners from Steam updates. One of the Ventus guys organised a 1v1 DotA 2 social comp which seemed to get people going.

please let us know when you're doing the next LAN / if you do another LAN.

I will do! :) The biggest difficulty for us is finding a viable venue - in terms of power, location and price.
