As Loadshedding got worse throughout 2022 myself and my wife decided we have had enough. We have not yet decided to go full hybrid solar with a proper installation as our need was just for the TV, Internet, 1x light and 1x work laptop to be powered during loadshedding. So we bought this EcoFlow River Pro portable powerstation. And what a gamechanger it was. Probably one of the bestand most reputable powerstations on the market. We ended up watching movies on our TV and soundbar with the internet and lights on without the EcoFlow discharging less than 85% till the power comes back on (2 hour slot). Even 4 hour slots is laughed off with the EcoFlow still having more than 60% capacity left. The bonus was that it is able to charge at roughly 850 W maximum meaning it would be fully charged from 20% to full in less than an hour. This means it is always ready for the next round of Loadshedding.

As time went on and me and my wife moved into our newly built house, we decided to go all-out and install a proper hybrid solar system rendering us practically Eskom free. Therefore we do not have a need for the EcoFlow anymore and thought that someone else could use it rather than it standing with us gathering dust (not literally as it is stored in its original box and we looked very well after it, cleaned it regularly and never used it rigerously).
