Hi ladies, gentlemen, none binary individuals and any other entity which is able to read this which I may not have addressed.

What could you suggest that I do with such a laptop which warranty has expired 18 June 2018? Looks like it is the motherboard from this thread. I think it is an easy fix, possible surface mount component, and the system is still very capable which would be a shame to use it as a paper weight - 7700HQ, 16GB, GTX1050Ti etc.

The symptom is the same as the below thread, when you plug the charger in, the LED on the charger goes off and the system is still dead. Even when unplugging RAM, battery, SSD, HDD it still is the same. :( I'm in CPT, southern suburbs so would like to take it to someone close by that has a good reputation.

Charger light goes off when I plug it into the laptop

Thanks for the reply though this is also what I suspected. 🙈

Anyone have any other ideas?

I have this exact same issue on my Dell too... Although it's much older (1st gen)
