Hi all.
Looking for advice/recommendations.
As I am sure many of you are, with 'rona I am working from home and thus sitting at my PC for long periods of time. Probably 12 - 14 hours a day?
Looking for a decent chair. Currently have a Makro special from about 8 years ago. Pleather pealing off, not providing proper support, cushion flat and creaks so I can't even skommel without the whole household knowing. It is overdue.
Budget, cheaper the better but will spend R5k if I need to.
One requirement is for some form of proper ergonomic certification.
Not for or against gaming chairs, as long as it provides proper support.

Currently considering these two:

Any suggestions?

Ive ordered this one

I have one of these:

soft and supportive while still looking at place in my gaming study ;)

I'm about to pull the trigger on this, yay or nay?

PS: Don't need comments about Evetech's service. I don't have any issue talking to them on the phone to resolve so this is a moot point. Besides, I've only had one issue with them and it was actually my fault.

I have owned one of these for over a year and it is immaculate. I am around 150kg and the chair supports me weight and length wise without issue. May be slightly hard to sit on for some, but it does soften slightly over time. Would highly recommend one.

Thanks, shot has been fired. Now waiting for delivery and testing.

I didn't like my noble chair. Was hard, the bottom cut off circulation to my legs as the front is raised and I couldn't rest my feet on the chair's feet as it has a lame slant. Back rest was way too high and the pillow was only useful to put under my feet to counter the previous issue. I'm not short, I'm 176cm tall, which isn't breaking any records, but I thought it was a chair designed for giants, so I'm hoping you're taller than I am.

Sorry all, I wasn't quoted so I wasn't notified.
I first got this one but I wasn't happy. The Lumbar support thing is adjustable but also a bit loose. It kept on sliding down and not keeping in position and caused pain. I don't think it is designed for people my height and weight (6ft, 90 odd kg)

I ended up getting this one which is miles better. Feels a lot more sturdy and the lumbar support padded and does not move by itself like the previous one did. I can highly recommend it.

One thing with these ergo chairs is that they all are not designed for you to lie back hunched and kick your feet up. They do recline but are mored designed for good posture

Nice! If you keep it in your cart for a couple of hours, they might send you another R30 off voucher.

MERRYFAIR MOTION ERGONOMIC OFFICE CHAIR

I recently acquired a Herman Miller Aeron Classic (2016 model).
My God what a chair!

I disassembled it and gave it a thorough cleaning. It is amazing how serviceable these chairs are. EVERYTHING is replaceable.

One thing however I do feel is a CON is that these chairs do not come with a headrest. I see there are aftermarket headrests available, does anyone know of a place where I can get one locally?

So I contacted AllOffice and this is the response I get regarding 3rd party headrests.

Interesting.

Hi XXX

We are unfortunately not allowed to source or sell them as they go against Herman Millers recommendations and we could loose our license.
They do not recommend them so if you are putting one on it is at your own risk and you loose the warranty.

Kind Regards

Anyone have suggestions for an ergo chair without arms and a headrest? I feel these MIGHT just be in my price range.

So, anyone with an amazing 2-3k office chair?

I am looking for an Aeron Remastered in Jhb. Any idea where I can get this chair here, or even just try it out. All Office who is the official distributor, no longer have a showroom in Jhb.
