So im looking to buy 2x2GB DDR3 modules. From what I read, unless you benching, cheap ram will suffice. Im not really versed about latencies/ CL's so im hoping you guys could advise what ram would be the best option.

So are there any differences between the above or is it just a case of picking a colour. I really dont want BSOD errors because when my pc isnt working I dont sleep :( lol

What's your budget? Some places are offering 8gigs Vengeance RAM 1600 at R600 but that was before the R/$ went nuts.

I just got my 8gigs Vengeance for R725 which I think is a good deal and I would advise 4gig modules. Speed and latency has no effect on gaming performance.

If you want to overclock get 1600 RAM.

Get one module of these now and another later on Prophecy.co.za - Corsair CML4GX3M1A1600C9 Vengeance LP 4GB DDR3-1600 1.5v CL9 Desktop

TBH im not into overclocking that much, really I just want the cheapest/best value RAM. So in terms of budget not looking to spend more than R350 on the two modules. I would rather get two modules at the same time because I imagine that single/dual channel does have an effect on gaming performance.

There are lots of people selling 2gig module packs on carb and you can run it at 1.5V@1333 which will be fine. You are just limiting your ability to add beyond 16gigs of RAM later on but it seems you just want a cheap setup so go for it. Remember 8gig modules are coming out.

Speed of RAM has little affect on gaming performance so I can see why you'd not want 1600. Single channel does have a fairly small affect on performance.

I doubt you'd notice dual/single channel performance differences in gaming.
