Whats wrong when a computer automaically shutdown?

yes, but remember, if you see the pins on the socket you didn't apply enough paste

No its a low budget build, so i just started using it today

I just finished installing windows, and updating drivers.

Is all the power connections plugged into the board correctly from powersupply etc
Is everything seated properly?

List specs of the system,

There are so many things it could be, but you need to give info otherwise its like predicting the lotto numbers at this point

Im using a quick fix for the paste so im using tooth paste 😅

Go to control panel and check your power plan there is setting where every hardware is timed for being alive maybe hhd is time at less than 5 minutes so the riddle is that once that times up without touching the keyboard your computer will switch of instantly, check CPU time, check everything's time and adjust accordingly mostly they use minutes only. So you to multiple hours and make them minutes. See if this make a difference.

Sounds like overheating, maybe a bad multiplug/wall socket.

When a PC overheats, its generally accepted that you are taking about the CPU overheating. Other parts that could possibly overheat and cause a shutdown would be the motherboard chipset, GPU or PSU.

If you built the PC, did you remove the sticker under the heatsink?

From the minimal information given, I would guess overheating.

Install hwmonitor, watch the temps, and put it under load to see what happens.

If temperature is the problem, check your cooler mounting and redo the paste, not with toothpaste though.

I mean, if that is all he can afford, toothpaste does make a sort of sense. I have actually seen that as a recommendation for a very very short term solution. Just troubleshooting level.
