Right, so this one has some issues and a back story. I bought the CPU from a now banned scammer here:
https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?threads/intel-i7-4790k-8mb-cache-upto-4-4ghz.454805/#post-2960782

The CPU was not perfect and that was not mentioned but see the bad deals thread here:

I have tested the CPU and it is turbo-ing as it should, and does not blue screen and performs as intended, except for the part where ONLY ONE Memory Channel works on this CPU. Due to a blown part of the CPU (See Screenshort, see what I did there? down below, or in the bad deals thread) on the back of the CPU. Tested it in games like Valheim, PubG, the Modern Warfare's, Borderlands 3 and it works as you would expect but seeing as my THEN mobo only has two slots, and me only able to utilize one, I resorted back to my i5 to have my 16GB ram back as these games are memory hungry. Now my theory was, if you have a board with 4 ram slots, then 16Gb is achievable again as it will still read all the slots on the one channel, but ignore the other 2 on the other channel. This was confirmed with the Gigabyte GA-Q87M-D2H and it read the full 16GB RAM and gaming was fine.
