OC3D review

This reminds me of Nvidia killing 980Ti prices with the 1080 launch.

Then Z390 boards supposedly coming 2018Q3, WTF intel.

It sure does I took a R5500 knock when 1080 launched lol

Meh theres not need to watch all the CPU reviews, just watch the tinytom OC3D one, then go on to Z370 mobo reviews.

I know what I'm doing tonight. Looking for Guru3D copy/paste reviews :D

Perhaps import the CPU ? Not much can go wrong with a CPU so a safe buy to import IMO
I know the Z370 Asrock boards are already here in SA.

Shortages are a worldwide nightmare, don't expect easy imports. Even NewEgg is only shipping several weeks after purchase.

Hmm. Good to know. Wasn't aware of possible CPU shortages. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.
Suppliers could be sitting with excess boards for awhile. Should also bump the price up I would presume.

It was a damn fail for Intel to push coffee lake forward 3 months only to have severe shortages until the original release date. Now z370 is a thing when z390 was the planned chipset for coffee Lake, but z390 is only coming 2018Q3 (6months later than the original release date?). Fail intel, fail.

The back and forth of good competition is good, Ryzen being so good is the reason why CFL is well ahead of its time and seems a nice jump in performance.

i5 - 8400 looks like a great CPU holy wow.
For gaming the i3-8350K also look promising on the specs and quick look at reviews, not much behind the 8400 and unlocked
First time actually have the feeling an ungrade may be in order since 4xxx

I totally agree on the i5 8400 if you are in the market for a new PC. Otherwise keep your money under the mattress.
Oh and we have a big wait for B360 boards. so that is my first " KUK " for this thread.

I really don't get the obsession with " KUK " series CPU's over the years.
Yes it's a nice hobby if you into that kinda stuff, but this obsession with " KUK " series CPU's is just all hype and no substance.
All about bragging rights.
It's the biggest con job CPU manufactures have done in my opinion.
So you pay a premium for having an unlocked multiplier when all CPU's are unlocked to start with and then are locked by Intel.
You then have to pay a premium for a Z series board to overclock your unlocked CPU which should be unlocked in the first place.
Then premium Ram is often needed for stability and for overclocking of course
Now comes all the money on the CPU cooling and of course a more expensive case / case fans to keep things running as cool as possible.

All this so you can overclock your CPU to get 1 to 2 extra fps in your favourite game.

If you got the bucks and are willing to spend all that extra money on more expensive components and coolers to overclock fine.
All the above have little relevance, as you can afford it so why not.

For the majority of people skip the " KUK " series. Save yourself a bucketful of money on the above and rather put your money into
a more powerful GPU, a SSD, where you will see tangible gains or save it for a shrink when you decide to buy a " KUK" series CPU.

Can't see how an i7 8700K is going to be in any way a better buy than a i5 8400. Have read a few reviews and they try so damn hard to find
some way to justify their relevance. Yes of course in a few instances there will be some gains but not for 95% of the people who end up buying a "KUK" series.
This applies to all the " KUK" series CPU's over the years.

Waste of money in my opinion. Please disagree if you want and don't take it personally if you have a " KUK " Series :)

I really enjoyed getting that KUK off my chest !... I can't stop saying KUK now ... Where's my shrink's number ?
