@TitanZA Could you explain what is broken? So that we could all think about purchasing said item

@superrob , my mate had a look at the board and he says that one of the capacitors has blown. Other than that I don't know what else could be wrong. Was at RAGE this year and while my brother was playing his PC just shut down and his GPU was super hot so we took it out and put it in another PC and it wouldn't start so we bought him a new one and this 980ti is practically only a paper weight to us now

Thanks @TitanZA, perhaps could even have non booted due to heat, there was an issue with windows not running the evga fans till the last minute sigh. So with the EVGA i'd now recommend using msi afterburner with custom fan curves to keep it nice and operational.

So either this card will be fixed or can be used as spares for existing cards like the cooler transferred etc guys

@superrob I don't know what the cause could have been, all that I do know is that the PC doesn't start anymore when you plug it into the motherboard

have you tried booting up the system using two graphics cards so that you could at least view the card in hardware?

No I haven't attempted to do that

Just out of interests sake if you can just get it up and running it's more cash for you then just selling a bricked gpu for parts

Maybe post some pics of the PCB for interested parties. Maybe some close-up of the suspected blown cap as well.

If you can narrow down something you may get more potential buyers; as it gives some hope that the card may yet be fixed.
