This is one of the older Breville espresso machines, built like a tank.
Sold as “dual temp” which just means it can dispense hot water as well as steam. Microprocessor controlled brewing with pre-infusion. Does smart stuff like flush the boiler when going from steam to hot water mode to cool it down quicker.
Clearly used but generally in pretty good condition except for the pop-open water refill chute which is a little stuck thanks to the previous “repairer” (I left their sticker on the machine so you can send a thank you note and avoid them in future). Just needs an additional finger to push it loose. I subsequently repaired it properly. Tested by mother in law for 2 weeks who said it’s lekker now.
- Fully stripped, cleaned and descaled
- Brand new group head gasket
- All front button switches replaced
Makes the best coffee and steam I’ve ever had from a machine in this class, excellent entry level machine that will serve you for years, heavy enough to kill a grown man in a single shot. Seriously, there must have been a special on steel when they built this thing. Essentially the fancier older brother to the Cafe Venezia.
3mo warranty on me since I did the repairs. Will throw in a bag of @Gegrond coffee so all you need is water and milk. Check out my kak latte art in the last picture, I call it “the swirl”
