3 yrs RROD is only for FAT models not Slim. MS only offers a 12 month warranty on Slim's as they believe RROD is something of the past ...

I have confirmed with Microsoft that the unit has full warranty and that the xbox warranties are performed according to serial number. As I mentioned the unit is a gift from Microsoft, I'd have have been surprised if they had given me an xbox without any warranty.

Worst case, if something should go wrong I can contact MS on the buyers behalf and sort it out!
