Deal Thread URL: can't find it, suspect the seller deleted. the title was something like 'getting rid of my spare laptop'. I did take a screenshot of it.

Seller:
@ivan cig

Buyer: @f0Ri5

Description of Bad Deal:

Starting off, I'd like to give credit where credit is due. The asus i5 10th gen laptop I purchased from mister Ivan was in excellent condition all around, no scratches or dents, screen and battery were perfect, keys looked like they were barely used. it arrived packadged nicely, and the seller was very polite and responsive from start to finish. I'm saying this because I don't want to start beef with people or run the guy off the platform.

So what's the issue? Well, I had two: firstly, while the trackpad works, neither the left nor right click gives any response. this was not mentioned in the original thread. secondly, the keys were very 'sticky'. i don't know how else to describe it. physically, the surface was clean, but pressing them, they would sometimes get stuck and not bounce back up. after using a toothbrush with some spirits, i was mostly able to resolve the issue, affirming my suspicion that something was spilled on the keyboard at some point (however, all the keys do actually work/ type).

I requested a refund from mister ivan, mainly because of the trackpad not clicking, but he was unwilling. That's the long and short of it. If the issue was mentioned in the original thread, I would understand his refusal, but when i made the purchase, no such thing was mentioned.

the review i did on his profile links to the wrong deal because, as i said, the original seems to have disappeared. it was just for the purpose of leaving feedback on his profile

Edit:

I doubt this will be resolved, as it is, I would want to get my money back before returning, otherwise I will be out of a laptop and 5.5k. The courier back will also need to be covered by mister Ivan (i paid for collection). I doubt he will agree to these terms, but it is what it is.

This may not be applicable to you with that specific laptop but I have had that issue before after a fresh windows installation and it ended up being a driver issue.

Grateful for ur feedback. I wasn't aware of any issues as I myself utilized the laptop as it was my own personal machine and the mousepad was fully functional, both mouse clicks as well as the single tap for left click and two finger tap for right click, I even reformatted the drive and reloaded the os for you. I had mentioned to you to allow drivers to be updated and installed fully. I also reassured you that no liquid spillage had taken place on the laptop during the time it was in my possession. Laptop functioned 100% for me it shud for you too.

@ivan cig this is two people having issues with stuff you sold in only a few days. Both state you sold the items with issues you did not disclose. We'll wait for your response on the other thread before continuing this discussion.

@ivan cig I'd actually recommend you return both people's money and take back your laptops. One I can understand, but two long-standing members having issues in just a few days with the same seller tells me there's something up with the laptops. If they're fine like you claim, you can always sell them again.

@f0Ri5 take note of the above. I'd expect him to refund you before you send the laptop back as well, or refund on pickup, or something like that.

Sticky keys means something spilled on it. @f0Ri5 you can always take the laptop to a repair centre and ask them their opinion on water damage, it's usually quite definitive.

Thanks for the advice, I did reformat from a new win 10 flash as I had also experienced the issue before. Unfortunately the issue wasn't resolved (the touch part of the trackpad works, but again, it doesn't give any response on clicks).

I did do so. The opinion was that something sticky was spilled on it. The repair quote was pretty expensive, as laptop repairs usually are, that's why I decided to scrub it with a toothbrush. But as I said, the stickiness is mostly resolved. At this stage, the only thing wrong is the trackpad not clicking. Again, the touch part works, but if you press down on the left/ right buttons, nothing.

You're welcome to, I can't force you to do anything.

I see your words, but don't understand your POV. He claims a compromised state when it arrived, and then took it to a repair centre that confirmed it. To boot, another user also complained about a bad state of a laptop you brought him, also with crap under the keyboard. If it was one, sure. But two, so close together, with very similar issues? Yeah...

That's just ugly.. I understand both points of view but I can't help but get this feeling that the seller is at fault. I'd like to believe the seller but like you said @Toxxyc it's happened twice and in a short space of time.

Best thing to do in my opinion, the seller agrees to pay for an inspection at a computer shop of his choice, be is matrix, etc.. a shop with a neutral point of view, and then that shop would have to state the age of the spillage..

I don't know, but I think the only real resolve is to try to identify the age of the spillage, IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO DO SO. Not sure if my 50c helps. Just a suggestion (possibly a bad one :/)

The other laptop had no issues especially with the kbd and keys, I was with the guy testing everything, why didn't he say something then???? The charger worked perfectly fine when it was tested in front of him, he was happy. I cannot take any responsibility for anything especially AFTER the entire deal was concluded and I've left the client's premises. ANYTHING could have happened to that laptop in the time the guy had it in his possession. And here I am still committing to his complaint to go all the way back to his location and check on the laptop which he himself was not even available the entire day today for me to tend to, so.........

@ivan cig sir, you are being dishonest and I think you know it. im sure it doesn't feel good lying to people so openly when a screenshot can easily refute your statement.

when i mentioned the clicks not working, you did not refute. instead, you recommended i use the touchpad/ one touch for left click, two touch for right click.

you knew the clicks had issues before sending the laptop. please have some respect for other people, as well as yourself.

You know @ivan cig, you keep talking about your "client". Yet you're just selling to another person, personally. He's not a client.

Hovewer, I took that info and just did a quick check. Are you familiar with Cyberdyne Technologies?

Interestingly, Matthew Greenway in that company overview video clearly states "reputation means the world" to them and that "a good name in business, is worth more than money". You claim something similar, in "I will still pay you that visit after this negative thread has being posted by you to stick to my commitment and show you I am an honest guy, a family man and dont do people down.", but you don't seem to live up to it.

It seems I messed up the Cyberdyne names. Oh well. I'm pretty sure you're familiar with CIG Cyberdyne anyway.

I honestly cannot understand this disgusting suspicion of others - why do (so many people) thinks someone would deliberately fuck something up & blame the seller???

OK, OK, OK. Digging is cool.

@ivan cig you own a company called Cyberdyne Technologies. Your website is trash, you need to upgrade it. But, at least, on there you claim a 90 day warranty on all sales. Good, that's law. Since you refer to them as clients, it's your responsibility to honour that warranty, don't you think?

That's not the entire convo lol, u chose a particular piece and left out the critical part of the convo where I told u the clicks were working, I merely suggested the tapping functions.
