I hope you're all doing well, and I'd like to bring something important to your attention. Recently, I was invited to a WhatsApp group called "Binance South Africa - A5," which unfortunately turned out to be a scam. I want to share my experience with you all to ensure that none of you fall victim to this deceptive group.
Upon joining this group, I noticed some sketchy signs that this was a scam group. Mentioning things like "Binance needs to launch a project, and we will use crypto fans in the field to conduct precise invitations". There were some typical "bot-like" messages like "wow this group is useful, I wish to learn more".
These scammers are preying on unsuspecting individuals, attempting to gain access to their personal information and assets. It's crucial to stay informed and protect ourselves from such threats.
Here's what happened:
Scammy Conversations: In the group, there were discussions that raised red flags. This is a blatant scam tactic.
Safety Reminder: To protect fellow group members, I posted a message urging everyone not to share their sensitive information with anyone they don't trust or know.
Unfortunately, my attempt to protect the community led to my removal from the group by the scammers, confirming that this "Binance South Africa - A5" group is indeed malicious.
I can't seem to get the screenshots I took up on Imgur or the forum but I'll try post later from my PC. Just lazy to transfer from my phone rn.
I'm not sure if Binance has a leak, or data breach, or if they scraped my number from somewhere and took a shot in the dark? Either way something is fishy. Hope I haven't had my data breached somewhere.
