Value for money a 24" 144hz would be easier on the wallet for sure.
The Dell S2716DG would probably be the best midrange (size wise) option.
I had the Acer XG270HU, but a friend's Dell S27 felt smoother. Suppose it depends if you are AMD or Nvidia....
Meant S2716DG (post fixed). I think the QHD on a 27" would be better than on the 24", added to that that I am in the NVIDIA camp, so the GSYNC support has me sold. Currently option 1 on the list, funding plans already launched.
Thanks for the mention. Just note, the predators where bought locally. So full local warranty on them. The Dell is only the resident favourite because it's basically the only GSync option under 10K (until @PsychoticKing imported those Predators). In a world where you can get other GSync monitors from other companies for similar money it's far from being a winner. In fact it's the basically the only local QHD GSync solution considering the PG279Q is out of stock.
If we had a choice of Acer and Viewsonic and others the Dell wouldn't be king like that. Nor even if the XG270HU could always sell at that crazy clearance special Rebeltech had it at a few weeks ago.
And the best bang for buck screen for us locally is a fight between the LG 24GM79 and playing the lottery on the 24" Samsung CFG.

Thoughts on the above and also, what is the best bang for buck screen at the moment?
Depending how important 3 inches is to you, why not get this?
Asus VG248QE 24" 144Hz 3D LED Full HD 1920x1080 Monitor - Wootware
Because the LG 24GM79 is newer and has a better panel (and variable sync tech if you happen to have a red team GPU).
and LG 24GM79G is even newer.
