I have a problem on my new machine; the Battle.Net launcher often gets stuck at this "initializing" phase. Usually it's Diablo 3 but it's happened a few times with Starcraft 2 and Hearthstone as well. The Blizzard forums simply say I should go into C:\ProgramData\Battle.net\Agent and delete various files, which often solves the problem but not always.

This didn't ever happen on my previous machine, which was running the same Windows Pro x64 and the same 2mbps iBurst connection through the same router.

Anyone here have any ideas?

Are your games fresh installs or did you just copy them over from your previous Windows? I had similar connection issues but once I reinstalled D3 via download I'm able to play again.

Not sure if you're sorted yet I see this was a few days ago.

Ah sorry; forgot I even posted this. Appreciate the response.

Those were fresh installs.

An update to the story is I have since bought a new SSD and installed Win8 Pro. I copied the questionable contents of my Program Files\Diablo 3, Hearthstone and SC3 folders across to the new setup and BAM! A 5 minute download for D3 and all three games are up & running.

Who knows why it was misbehaving. This is one of the reasons I hate launchers; stupid idea.
