Greetings!

I'm looking for a spot to take this missus and the laaitie for some fishing
My knowledge of fishing only consists of salt water fishing 😅
I've always wanted to try some bass fishing and got myself some gear and lures today
Where can I go that isn't packed and that's suitable to take your family with?
I don't mind the drive just I don't want to spend half a day looking for a spot🤣

productimg

On a more serious note, what's your location? There should be some fishing spots out by hartbeespoort dam.

I Know the title says Gauteng but if you are ever in KZN and looking for an excellent spot, we have the Mooi River on our property .. ( Rosetta Fields Country Lodge)

Another factor that contributes to the great fishing here is that its all private land around the river for many Km's ,so no over fishing.

If you're in Centurion then rietvlei is not too far from you?

What fish can you catch in the river ?

Thatchfield is meh, they are building a shopping centre next door and the run off has damaged the ponds.

You should try Gnu Valley, it's a nice venue but winter is a hard time to start learning to fish for Bass

We are moving back to KZN end of the year so will definitely take you up on it!

Thanks. It's actually just to get out of the house and spend some time with the family. I'm moving back up to KZN end of the year and all my mates that side are avid bass fishermen 😅 So need all the practice
