NOTE: these are NOT like the junk you find out there, they have high transmit power. Tested and proven (conditions permitting) - I was able to communicate from Parklands all the way into Bloubergrant, that's 1km and NOT line of sight, pretty impressive if you ask me. They are also programmable if you can get the programming cable from Aliexpress or suchlike or you can make your own with a couple of plugs and a FTDI USB to serial cable.
