Description of Bad Deal:

Good Evening,

I am going to try to be as detailed as possible.

I recently used carb to purchase a whole new setup.
I purchased various parts from various persons.

All where good deals, except for a monitor incident with Ruan, which was sorted out.

However,I also purchased from Locky, a set of Gamdias fans + Samsung NVME + Raidmax Cooler.

Firstoff, We started chatting on the 12th November 2021, i did an immidiate payment, like i always do, of R1450.00 ( @ 10:48am )
He confirmed the payment @ 17:49pm
On the 13th he sent me a picture showing that postnet is closed due to covid and he stated he would send via courier. ( @11:21am )

This all was fine, i had no issues.

On the 15th, i enquired about the couriers, as i have not received feedback regarding a waybill. ( @ 17:17pm )
He advised that he did indeed make a booking. ( @ 17:18 )

This was also acceptable.

On the 16th, i enquired again @ 11:26am
@16:14 He contacted me and advised he will be going to postnet to send the package.

On the 18th November 2021, Postnet advised that i can collect. ( @13:43 )

Upon opening the package, i saw the Cooler had a screw missing on the top bezel, no base plate to hold the bracket against the Mobo and the spring wires that hold the fan was missing.

I contacted him and enquired as the post did not specify any of this. he asked me if i needed the items urgently, in good faith i advised him i can wait for the items.
He advised that he can only send the items the following Thursday as he is going out of country for the week. ( ETA now is 25th November 2021 )

On 03 December 2021, i enquired again ( @15:56pm ), whereby he responded " Whose this .. I lost my Phone " @ 17:19pm
( Still using the same number on whatsapp and having the same profile pic, in essence, i do not think he "lost" his phone )

I re introduced myself and explained the happening to this point @ 18:39pm

He replied @ 21:40pm , asking if he can send it monday.

Today, 06 December 2021, he again, no contact from him, but also, according to Whatsapp on my PC, he changed his number. So i messaged both the old number and the new number, asking if he managed to send the items and advising that i will now provide negative feedback and asking for a refund on the item. ( @17:51 )
The message was delivered to the new number, but was not read yet.

Now, my point of view is that i was very generous and understanding up to now.
I feel that he received my funds in a very timely manner, but i did not receive the items as advertised nor in the condition as advertised.

Although i understand his phone was "lost", BUT he was still able to contact and rectify the situation via Carbonite.
I accidentally smashed my phone while doing shopping ( It kinda works still ),
But the active deal i am doing, i advised the seller that i have to contact them via carb and not via whatsapp.
I made the efford.

The conclusion is that i had to purchase a different NVME for my build because of his delayes, and i had to buy a different Cooler as the one i bought from him, is up to this point, still in pieces and cannot be used at all.
And yes, i piff'd the NVME when it arrived, as i did not need it anymore
( Progenix supplied me with that sweet WD Black :) )

I obviously feel cheated and deceived by a fellow Carb member. Especially while he is a Senior Member.

I have a copy of the Whatsapp messages between us, if it is needed for evidence.

I think its clear that he is not coming to the game.

Shall i just call it and take the knock?
What should the way forward be?

I am at a loss for words.
 
@lifeharbinger go open a case against him at SAPS for fraud. He sold something incomplete and knows it. Send him the case number and tell him you'll withdraw it if he comes to the party (or replies here).
