Deal Thread URL:https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?t...-ek-waterblock-5960x-cpu.361838/#post-2398743
Seller:
@Cedz700
Buyer: @Nosh
Description of Bad Deal: Been very busy with my newborn baby troubling in the afternoons , Also was busy with other family stuff and my sister also had a baby weekend.
Only got a chance to fully test this combo this week . Very sad that this turned out to be bad . Because i was very excited about the setup.

* The motherboard is faulty can take x8 ram
1) The motherboard will only go to windows in i only have 2x ram sticks in ( no errors )
2) if i add more ram no display
3) if i take out battery for reset ( will go into bios but show incorrect memory amount ) as if the mother board can't read the ram
if i click on save . No boot into windows
4) Sometimes when i press the power button ,motherboard does not power on. have to keep pressing ( If i was the power supply on another PC works fine )

( I once owned a 4th board was doing this before it failed died long time ago )

5) The first night when i got it the motherboard and CPU took very long to boot kept trying hours . When it did boot to windows i had 64gb ram in . But windows was showing incorrect memory amount .
So i put the PC off and went to sleep and replied to Cedz700 in the morning he asked me if the PC booted in to windows . Then he told me that i should update the bios which i found strange because he had 128gb ram in this PC that he is advertising and selling separate from this combo

6) When i talked to Cedz700 on the phone he told me that he will send air cooler and stuff for the waterblock that he is not using . But he did not send anything besides the waterblock and when i asked him on my wifes whatsapp . He said its only comes with waterblock . But on the phone he told me something else . ( But i never worry much because i had my own cooler)

7) i tested each ram stick . it has no problems and all are identical stock sticks 2133 speed

This is what the motherboard is doing .

all ram x8 ( no display )

x4 ram sticks ( no display )

x2 ram sticks ( only working )

I asked
Cedz700 for a refund and told him that i will send the it back to him with Postnet ( But he did not agree to refund me )
He told me that i should take my PC to a PC tech shop to get the motherboard tested and if the motherboard is damaged he won't refund me . He also told me to send him the board and CPU so he can test it and if its damaged he won't pay me ...

This is not fair because i never damage this board . why will i damage this board when i paid so much money !!! ( Also i built many PCs and fixed many PCs over the years )
How can i damage so many ram inputs in one go this is stupid ...

I am not happy about this . I will like
Cedz700 to refund me and i will send his stuff back to him when he refunds me .

Hi there,

I have read through the complaint and it seems that a couple of issues have been raised, so I will respond as follows:

1. The deal and the contents of the deal
2. The combo not working
3. Proposal made

1. The deal and the contents of the deal:

The statement made by @Nosh was as follows:
When i talked to Cedz700 on the phone he told me that he will send air cooler and stuff for the waterblock that he is not using . But he did not send anything besides the waterblock and when i asked him on my wifes whatsapp . He said its only comes with waterblock . But on the phone he told me something else .
Firstly, lets start with what was included in the deal, which can be found here.

The deal included the following items:

- 1x Asus Rampage V Extreme U/3.1 Motherboard
- 1x Intel 5960X CPU
- 1x Waterblock for the motherboard mosfets as per my description.

The facts are as follows:

I sent a whatsapp message to Nosh with photos of everything PRIOR to him paying anything.
This can be found in the screenshot of the whatsapp conversation below.

1. Please note the photos before his message stating that he has paid.
2. Please note my description in the add link mentioned above.
3. Please note my profile picture which is the same motherboard where everything was watercooled. I don't own any aircoolers.

The statement made by @Nosh is therefor false.

2. The combo not working.

The statement made by Nosh was as follows:
The first night when i got it the motherboard and CPU took very long to boot kept trying hours . When it did boot to windows i had 64gb ram in . But windows was showing incorrect memory amount .

Firstly, the quote tells me that the motherboard and CPU are working, albeit that it took long to boot.

The second point is that he is stating that windows reported that it has 64GB of RAM installed.
This is in fact incorrect, as he had 64GB installed according to the message, but windows was only showing 48GB.

After this, Nosh sent me a message stating that CPU-Z however is picking up the entire RAM amount installed.
This is when I stated the board might need a BIOS update, as the board is clearly picking up the RAM, but windows is just not showing it.
He said that he will look into it and I greeted him.

The messages can be found below:

This was on 14 May 2021.

Nosh then sent me a message a week later stating that he has not fixed the problem, however he still has not done a BIOS update and that the PC is still only showing 48GB of RAM.

This passed Monday he sends me a new message that only two memory sticks are now working.

My solutions given:
1. I asked that he update the BIOS as the memory might just be giving an error.
2. I asked him to review the Q-code (Error code) that the board is showing.
3. I asked him to please set the current BIOS to default settings.
4. I stated that the board might be making a short if it is touching the chassis somewhere which can cause problems.
5. I said that the board may not be giving enough power to the RAM.

My concerns are the following:

1. The system was working when I sent it to him.
2. He confirms, as I have quoted above in point 1, that the board was picking up all of the RAM, Windows was just not showing all of it.
3. The memory of 48GB which WAS working, now all of a sudden does not work a week later and the system won't boot with more than 16GB RAM?

The damage part:

1. I was concerned that Nosh has damaged the board, because the system was working and all of a sudden it stopped.
2. Nosh sent me pictures where he placed the motherboard on his bedding in between builds.
This may cause static electricity to short the board without him knowing, damaging the board.

3. Nosh also removed the backplate when he installed his cooler and was struggling with this.
This could also mean that he overtightened the screws and may have damaged CPU pins on the board.

The proof of this is as per the Whatsapp photos below:

This is not fair because i never damage this board . why will i damage this board when i paid so much money !!! ( Also i built many PCs and fixed many PCs over the years )

I have gone above and beyond to try and assist Nosh with his setup, however from the messages it is clear that he is struggling.
Nosh states that he has built many pc's over the years, however I am of a different opinion after reading his messages of how he struggles and when I see that he builds the PC on the bed.

3. The proposal made:

1. Firstly, the statement made by Josh regarding a refund:

I asked @Cedz700 for a refund and told him that i will send the it back to him with Postnet ( But he did not agree to refund me )
He told me that i should take my PC to a PC tech shop to get the motherboard tested and if the motherboard is damaged he won't refund me . He also told me to send him the board and CPU so he can test it and if its damaged he won't pay me ...
I am not happy about this . I will like @Cedz700 to refund me and i will send his stuff back to him when he refunds me .

The statements made above are false.

I said the following, and I quote:

"
[07:39, 5/25/2021] Cedric: What is concerning was that the board and CPU worked when I shipped them, as I was using the system as a daily driver.

I hear your frustration, so I propose that you take the board to a qualified computer store and let their technician test the board and CPU for faults and we take it from there.
[12:56, 5/25/2021] Cedric: Alternatively, you can send the board and CPU back to me and I can test the system/look for faults and/or I can send it to someone for testing."

I therefor made a proposal.
I continued to state that we need a technician to look at the board and CPU, as Nosh is struggling with the system as shown above.

Lastly, I stated that if there are faults, I would refund the man. However, if damage was caused by him, I am not taking blame.
The message is shown below:

Nosh then jumped the gun and stated that I am not willing to refund him and that he is reporting me to the admins.
The statement by Nosh is once again false, as shown in the message above.

Warranty period:
The facts surrounding this are as follows:
- The combo was sent to Nosh more than two weeks ago.
- Any NEW hardware bought gives a 7 day money back guarantee and here more than 7 days have passed.
- The advert stated that the combo is without warranty.
- I repeat: Nosh stated that the board was working, however a week later the board does not work?
- Even when you wish to RMA a new product bought from a store, the supplier wishes to first test themselves before refunding.

In closing:

1. The system was working when I sent it to Nosh.
2. Nosh confirmed that the system was working, only that Windows was not showing all of his RAM.
3. More than a week has passed since he received the system and all of a sudden it is not working anymore.
4. I have concerns that he might have damaged the system during his installations as mentioned above, as he is struggling as per his many messages.
5. I have made a proposal asking him to please send the combo back for testing, as per normal protocol with any return.
6. He has falsely stated the facts about the combo and my willingness to refund previously.

7. Nosh expects me to pay him back all of his money, after more than the industry norm of 7 days has passed.
8. Nosh also expects me to pay him despite the system being worse off from when he received it - How am I to recover my money if damaged the system prior to confirming what the cause of action was?

No sane man or even business would do the above and put all of the risk on myself.

I was willing to assist and even refund the man, but after the above I regard this as a done deal by all of the standards, due to the fact that the system WAS working and he did something to the system, now it does not even boot like it did on the first day.

I trust that the moderators will do a fair judgment on the above.
I await your favorable response @ViVceptioN .

cedz is lying he did tell me on the phone that he is going to send a aircooler and other stuff for the waterblock
( he is dishonest) i don't care about a air cooler . But why lie now

The damage part
* first night when i got it the motherboard and CPU took very long to boot kept trying hours .
( normal computers comes on in short while )

3. Nosh also removed the backplate when he installed his cooler and was struggling with this.
This could also mean that he overtightened the screws and may have damaged CPU pins on the board.
I was not struggling ,i could not find the tool to open the original back plate of the motherboard . Because this comes with a lot of things in the box . Then i did find a small key tool in the box . After that it was easy to install

Nosh states that he has built many pc's over the years, however I am of a different opinion after reading his messages of how he struggles and when I see that he builds the PC on the bed.
* You sold me a faulty motherboard and now you are trying to make stories and you opinion is incorrect !
1) i did buy many components and PCs from carb members
'' if i am straggling and PC build on bed . how come those many motherboards did not get damaged ? '' ( i just press the power button and the PC works no problems )

2) if the bed is a problem why the ''not need'' stuff which i sold on carbonite is not damaged ?

@ScorpioMan86
Yes i did reseat cpu . Their is not damage to any CPU pins and the cooler is not over tight . ( i know if its to tight that it will cause damage )

From being able to read all the ram to 2 sticks is odd
The motherboard is faulty . Sometimes when i press the power button it does not even come on and their is no display with more then 2 sticks of ram ( When 2x ram sticks are installed PC works perfect )

Important Note: The first night when i got it the motherboard and CPU took very long to boot kept trying hours .
I was very busy and i only got a chance this week to use / retest this combo

@ScorpioMan86 and @ViVceptioN i did not damage anything Cedz700 sold me a faulty motherboard

I hope that this will be sorted out or i will lose a lot of money

Thank you

@ScorpioMan86 , @ViVceptioN thank you for help @Ageless_ZA Thank you for this site

Nosh states that he has built many pc's over the years, however I am of a different opinion after reading his messages of how he struggles and when I see that he builds the PC on the bed.

@Cedz700 : The PC has been fixed ''struggling on my bed to bru'' :ROFLMAO:

funny guy Cedz700

1) Reason for problems Cedz700 mistakenly had dirt in the CPU socket ( see below left)

2) Me asking him about the aircooler and other stuff

3) Tells me to turn board around to unscrew lol funny guy ( remember his opinion about me building PC's )

4)
I was not struggling ,i could not find the tool to open the original back plate of the motherboard . Because this comes with a lot of things in the box . Then i did find a small key tool in the box . After that it was easy to instal
This is how small the tool is and how much stuff to look into to find it

@Cedz700 no offense this post it not to pick on you and no hard feelings !!!

@Nosh You actually made a lot of my points for me in your post and if it is not for picking on me, you are harping on about something that is irrelevant. You could have just left it at - "Found the problem. System is working now after a bit of dirt was removed from the CPU socket."

Once again and for the record:
1. I did not send you a broken combo and I will not sell someone something that does not work!
2. It is not my fault if something like dirt got into the socket of the CPU when installing something.
If you reseated the CPU you could have picked it up in my opinion. :)

In closing:
I am glad the system is working and I hope that the system brings you many happy hours.
I deem this issue as dealt with and that all parties are happy.

@ViVceptioN and @ScorpioMan86 thanks for the input, I think that this thread can be closed now.

I am out! Have a happy Friday everyone!
