I bought two of these sets, but after plugging in one set, I realised it was enough for my needs. This set is BRAND NEW - I haven't even taken the RAM out of the box it came in. It still has the plastic covering the gold plates, and there's not a single scratch on the connecting strips since they were never removed from the box.

No man eish.

Will 32gb ram get hotter than 16gb ram? Ie more ram chips on the Pcb crwleating more heat.

I need to make the jump so 32gb eventually...

We will need the resident expert @HomelanderZA to chime in on the heat situation.

My logic dictates that if you have 4 DIMMS on your mobo and you only have 2 modules connected, there's at least sufficient room between them to keep them cool enough. Obviously good airflow will also help the situation.

In either case, this RAM is the bees knees for DDR4. Considering this set goes for R7000-ish now (which is a bit inflated), this is a steal. I feel I'm passing on the good deal that Wootware had last month. I'm not making any money here :)

Dual Rank does tend to heat up more than Single Rank, but we should normalise RAM cooling. It’s a hot take but I just don’t see why our RAM has to cook 😬.

I have same kit My RAM runs hi 40s hitting 50C... @3600 cl16... They need ample cooling.

Which apps do you peeps use to check the temps? And at what C should I start to consider active cooling?
