Or do you have to plug in in an audio in cable from your PC?

im hoping to be able to use this with a PS4 and get sound via a cable from audio output to external speakers.

Hey man, I haven't tried to use that jack, I've always used the audio jacks on my motherboard. I do believe that's how it works, because Windows does detect the monitor as an audio output device, but again I've never used it myself.
