Hey guys!
I had a AA unit installed by the dealership I bought the car at, and without telling me they put the worst shittiest aftermarket unit they could find in there and charged me an arm and a leg for it.
Like the thing takes a minute and a half from ignition on to being usable. That's if it doesn't kak out and have to be rebooted, sometimes several times.
I'd be driving in silence a lot of the time.

After getting Toyota South Africa to force them to give me my money back, I'm finding myself with R6000 (Maybe a bit more) to find a unit that isn't dog shit.

I'm looking at the Pioneer DMH-A5450BT, but it went up in price quite a bit.
Do you guys have any other suggestions?
Know any place I can look to find a unit?

Also, how can I tell if my vehicle is Double DIN compatible?

Hey Bud
Look at something like this

Uses your smartphone with a cradle

What car do you have?
There are a number of double dins supplied with fascia plates - car specific
If you wan to go the double din route, look for something with at least an octa core cpu, with 4 gigs of ram (Px6/Px7)

That does not look like what I'm looking for.
I want something with android auto.

I have a Toyota Agya.

Does the core count/RAM matter when you're just using the android auto?

If you want to go android auto specifically, your initial idea of going with a good non android head unit will work out well.

You will need a double din facia plate

And the head unit you originally wanted

Thats not a bad price!
Will the facia plate be nescasary?
I wish I can see it rather than the rendering of it..

Got one for my figo in the past and it was the most expensive piece of recycled warped trashbags I ever got...

Looks like you will need a trim plate
Standard double din dimensions are
180mm x100mm

I got a quote from someone to install it for R7690 so that's not a bad price.
Includes the facia plate, probably also includes the adapter cables.

Why the heck do we have standards if car manufacturers just shit all over them?

Thanks for the advice!
Helps a lot.
