Was R 7,278

Now R 5,799
Save! R 1,479

I've come to hear that there are questions going around about these being either used or possibly grey imports - they are neither.

The CPUs are brand new, sealed, with full three year warranty through either us or the local distributor.

We do not deal in used/pre-owned/second hand or grey market goods at all.

@Oj0 is AMD still actively producing these and the 5800X3D's? Or is what you are selling the last stock so to speak?
More will be coming fairly soon, but not at R 6,999 again - that was a once-off special :(

Unless AMD starts offering funding on them... As it stands, the 5800X3D is the only 5000-series CPU not part of RLP (a rebate program whereby I can sell below cost and AMD credits me at the end of the quarter).

So will they not be that price again or you just don't yet know what the price would be? Also do you know if black friday will hold any treats?

They won't be that price again. The Rand has lost nearly R 2 to the Dollar since they were last brought in, and USD SEP has not changed. IF (and it's a big IF) AMD adds them to RLP, the price may come down a tad. They have excluded it from the last two rounds of funding though.

Black Friday holds very little. Most of the "specials" are active already (eg, this was R 14,388 a few weeks ago), but they are price drops, not BF specials and that price drop kicked in mid October already.

Beware of stores advertising false specials this November, I've witnessed it for the last two years. Price was R 10,000 in September, it drops to R 8,000 in October, places advertise it as a BF special as was R 10,000, now R 8,500 just for BF, but other places have it as R 8,000.

You see all those places with 1,000+ items on special? Yeah. Compare their "special" price to "normal" pricing elsewhere and you might find you can save money by avoiding the "specials."

My rep at a large disti sent the following, CC'ing and addressing 6 product managers:

The replies? One sent 3 SKUs that I can run on special (average around 5% off), another sent about 15 SKUs (average around 7% off), and the other 4 said they don't have funding for anything.

Why? Because for as long as I can remember, and long before Black Friday came to SA, distis have done their larger price drops well before Black Friday in preparation for the holiday season. Price drops that normally continue to the end of December or even into the next year.

TL;DR, be very wary of BF sales. You may very well find the products cheaper elsewhere.

Very informative, I appreciate that proper reply.
