This actually does not help because I will only get alerts for that specific thread. Let me try to explain using an example: If I search for a PS5 console, I would like to be able to create an alert for this, which means whenever new posts are created for a PS5 console I will then be alerted. Hopefully this makes sense now.

I share @topper's view that subscribing to a general thread isn't very helpful as it lacks specificity. However, if Carbonite were to offer a feature similar to Gumtree's, it could be a powerful tool.

I'm not sure how feasible it would be to implement this into the forum, but perhaps @Ageless_ZA can shed some light on this. Alternatively, web scraping could be an option, but it requires technical skills, and it's uncertain if the forum permits it.

The overhead needed to allow everyone to get notifications per item they search for is huge. We have limited resources as it is.

So that's a hard no @topper


PS: we have 60k + members, of which 3-5k p/month are active. You do the math.

Web scraping is allowed, and has been used by some users before.
