Hi. I'm planning on redoing my loop soon and want to go with a dual loop solution. Given where I want the two res's, space is a bit tight so I was thinking of using 2 of the 3 ports on top of the pump/res combo as an inlet and outlet. Will this work? I'm looking at getting the EK-Quantum Kinetic TBE 300 D5 as the second res/pump combo.

I've only ever used the ports marked as inlet and outlet at the bottom of the pump.

If it helps paint a complete picture, I've currently got a Xres140 D5 combo which I want to swap out the res for an X3 250 with a multiport cap. I've got 2 rads (EK Performance 360 and Alphacool NexXxos XT45 v2 420). This is in an Obsidian 1000D. Currently using 10/12mm tubes and going to go 12/16mm.

The idea is for one loop to feed the CPU and Mobo vrm and the second to be on the GPU. I wanted the 2 res's side by side just to the right of the grommet that the Power cable feeds through. So that res on the left is going to be a bit tight hence I wanted to know if I could just use the top.

bit confusing, so let's see:

you will have 2 pump/res combo units?

you say "using 2 of the 3 ports on top of the pump/res combo as an inlet and outlet", but need to be clearer

you can obviously not use a port on top of res as outlet, but can as inlet and then the 1 port on the pump unit for outlet

also, HTF is 2 of these tight in a 1000D????????

Lol okay that answers my question. I wasn't sure if a port on the top can be an outlet. I was watching a vid of a dude doing a review of the tbe300 and he mentioned using the top as an outlet. But he didn't go into detail.

I thought it's going to be tight given the 2 res side by side against the back panel with the mobo and power cables on the one side and my front 360 rad on the other but I think I'm just being silly. I looked at it closer last night. Just need to plan it given the new information.

Thanks man, appreciate it.
