In a world soon to be overrun by PCI-Express Gen 4 NVMe SSDs, we find ourselves looking at a Gen 3 drive. This may seen almost archaic at a glance, but unless you have an AMD X570 motherboard you’re currently limited to Gen 3 speeds. As Gen 4 drives carry a price premium, future-proofing isn’t necessarily a wise choice. Unless, that is, you can make use of the speed right now.
