We are looking for a young motivated individual with a high standard of customer service.
If you know what both a SDS drill and a VLAN are then this may be for you
Projects are located in the Garden Route area. Office is in Knysna
We generally work with newly constructed high end homes
Job duties to include:
- Install A/V & Automation Systems
- Installation and programming of Control4 and C-Bus Systems
- Installing and programming devices including, but not limited to, Audio, Video, Multi-room A/V, Automated Shades, Lighting, Surveillance/CCTV, Networking, and Structured Wiring.
- Read and interpret architectural plans, diagrams, and schematics
- Performs all tasks required to completely install A/V systems to meet customer specifications
- Performs a variety of physical tasks involved in the installation of client infrastructure and equipment. This may include modification to structures and housing related to the equipment running of cabling and other physically demanding tasks.
- Troubleshoot and fix systems
Tasks include continual learning of new products, upgrades, and software programs related to systems; some jobs requires overtime and driving to different job sites, installer is required to work on different jobs simultaneously requiring adequate records of tasks and frequent communications to update project manager
Requirements:
- High energy and enthusiasm and a drive to learn.
- Networking experience, Setup and commissioning of networks, VLANs, Remote access, VPNs, Port forwarding etc.
- No criminal record (Some security estates run background checks for access)
- Knowledge of basic power tools, drill, SDS, jigsaw, multimeter.
- Drivers license
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently, and be accountable for work quality.
- Neat and professional in appearance
- Excellent communication skills and customer service, ability to work directly with homeowners
- Highly detailed, organized, and multitask driven
- Any other IT, networking, or programming experience is a plus
Helpful:
- Construction experience, experience with hand tools or a mechanical aptitude is helpful
- Direct experience with other AV integrations is helpful
The skills required for this job are mostly experience based and niche so there will be on the job training. If you are someone who can approach tasks logically and systematically, we can teach you to do everything required.
Salary: R14000
As most of our time is focused around projects our work time is mostly flexible.
When not finishing a project we are available to our clients for maintenance Monday to Fridays for the basics
With some of the automation systems we need to be available 24/7 although this is not generally day to day.
