hi guys
So I think I might have hit the lottery, I built my Asus Tuf-Z390 Pro Gaming last night with a 9700k and Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz.
I started off on 1.27v at 5.0ghz with XMP enabled. I did a series of 3dmark and pcmark benchmarks and an hour of realbench and couldn't get it to crash. I don't do Prime95 etc on my cpus since I believe that is by far the most unrealistic load you can ever acheive on a cpu. And I just can't get myself to torture my system like that. My max temps was 71c during the night. I've always done realbench and through all my years of testing realized that if you can hit an hour on realbench, chances are 99% you won't get a crash ever on those settings. Especially for a gamer, I never do editing or any of those things.
So over the weekend I will see just how low I can go, or perhaps see what vcore I need for 5.2ghz. If it's below 1.35v then I will certainly go for 5.2ghz then. I haven't even started tweaking yet.
It's also the vanilla bios, so first of all I will be updating my bios tonight.
