Item Wanted: Something similar to the Polk Audio db840dvc 8 inch subwoofer. Basically looking for a decent inexpensive 8inch ~200W rms subwoofer I can run at 6-8 ohm.

I can't seem to find those. Do you perhaps have a link? I'll check Hifi Corp. Its quite easy to find 4ohm SVC woofers, but the amp I have is 6ohm

I want to replace the subwoofer on my Logitech z906 PC speakers. From what I have read, a decent subwoofer makes quite a big difference. The default logitech subwoofer is quite boomy and muddy.

Specs on the z906:
- Subwoofer: 165 watts (6 ohms, at 52 Hz, at 10% THD)

According to the specs, I could. I wonder if it would sound any better. Do you enjoy the bass response on the z2300?

I love it and would die if it got stolen.

The z623 are the newer version of z2300.

A friend used to work for dcs - will ask him of he has a spare sub for u but for changing the sub just buy a better set- they last forever and worth everysent for me.

Hey man, Sorry to mess you around. I did some further research. Seems the subwoofer they used in the z2300 is very similar to the z906 (modified Tang Band woofer). I don't think it'd be worth it me getting a z2300. Thank you for all the suggestions . It helped me discover quite a few things.

I'm going to close this thread. The best option is the Polk Audio 8inch as an upgrade, but those have not been available for a long time and it is very unlikely I find one here in SA.
