6800XT Red Devil turned on me.

Howdy Gents,

Any idea what might have caused this?

It happened while watching a Youtube video and card basically on idle, the corner of my eye caught a spark and before I could rip the power cord out the machine shut down.

Decided to disassemble the card and this is what I found, card was running stock settings.

Case is is ventilated with 8 x case fans, power supply is a 850w 80+ Gold Super Flower.

System specs:

MSI B550 Gaming PLUS mobo
2 x 16GB G-Skill Trident DDR 4 3600 Mhz
Ryzen 5 5600x with 360 AIO cooler.
Super Flower 850w 80+ Gold Leadex III

Yeah this should be alright-ish to repair. MLCC arc welding behind the VRM should be savable.

Might be short that would effect the core, but he can do core replacements also.
