Many ppl have upgraded from this and have not been happy with the money spent and increased performance cause its not too much. Add a 1080 to this mix and you have a beast of a pc if that makes sense?

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Its been a difficult decision because I am running this setup with a 1080Ti Amp extreme. There is about 30fps gain on the games that I play, if I move to a 8700k setup with the 1080ti, especially for 2560x1440p. That being said, this setup runs very well and I have struggled with the idea to upgrade for quite some time.
