So this is a 1280x800 screen res version. It's old, it's slow. This is something you are getting for your kid who is purely going to surf the internet and watch videos with.
I still got a Late 2009 17" Macbook Pro that has an SSD in it and it works fine. We use it to watch movies/series in bed. So it could still have life.
