Please know this is an honest sale of an honest car. My son used this through his last 4 years of varsity and is leaving the country. It’s been totally reliable and he has done over 100,000 Kms since I bought it for him. Having been born blind in one eye, he has always been a very careful driver. 100,000 Kms without a single speeding fine, ever! One traffic light run on Witkoppen and that’s it.
He recently drove to the Eastern Cape for his final year and six months in decided to go work in England. He is a Vet. Last week he drove the car back home to us and on Monday past, on starting the vehicle to take it for a bumper repair, it would not start. Later when warmer it started but lots of Black grey smoke, no power. Turbo had failed. New internals fitted, car serviced, a crack in the sump cover aluminum welded and a gearbox mounting replaced, she is once again well. R11,800.00 later.
She will have the rear bumper repaired tomorrow. The other issues are electric mirrors are iffy and the aerial broke off. Glove box mechanism is loose. She drives strong and is very economical. Tyres & mags good. Electric windows and central locking good.
Asking R50,000.00 ONCO. These diesel Getz came in two engine derivatives, this is the 4 cylinder engine and the preferred one.
