Hi everyone

I have a space in my laptop (MSI Sword 17) for a SATA device. I have a spare hdd that I'd like to add. However, there appears to be no easy way to install it securely.

I've attached some pictures of the problems:
1) The first issue is that there is no way to screw the drive down securely. This means it would wiggle up and down when being moved.
2) The second issue is that there is nothing to prevent the drive from dislodging from the SATA connection. Obviously it would need quite a violent movement but I'm worried airplane turbulence could move it. (it would end up over the barcode sticker if dislodged)

I've searched around and this item seems to be the answer: MSI-U100-HDD-Hard-Drive-Caddy-Bracket-Holder-362134687086-2 - Laptop-Masters

However, I can't find this anywhere in SA. Does anybody know where/how I could get one?

Thanks in advance!

Why not just fix it down with something like double-sided sponge tape?
It will add some sponge effect for clamping and should work.
Thanks! Will the tape not overheat or melt?

I really really would not worry about that.

But since you did, I did some digging.
Draught foam tape is good for 110 degrees.
The hottest most computers get is like 85C in the inside of the GPU.
It will be fine.
