I'm guessing around 99.8% of cards you will find being sold second hand will have been used for mining at some point. 75% of all stats are made up on the spot though

Flew home yesterday with both the Red Devil 580 and a XFX 480, both are working very well. Drivers wouldn't install at first with the 480 due to the modded drivers, what finally resolved my issues was I flashed the stock bios I found online, also anyone that does take one of the XFX cards, I recommend replacing the stock thermal compound, mine dropped from nearly 80 to less than 60 at max load.

OP sent me the serial numbers for the MSI 480s, they are "1609"s (ie manufactured Sept '16) so warranties are likely expired with manufacturer at least and without an invoice, then definitely nothing
