Hi peeps.

I'm looking for a 10M HDMI 2.1 cable to output 4k@120hz.

I purchased this cable but it can't perform as advertised on the box. Only 4K@60hz or 2K@120hz is possible.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Just double checking, were you able to confirm the GPU and the display are able to work together at 4k120 with a different cable?

Also, this might sound funny, but try unplugging, replugging, restarting etc. a few times. I have an old cable that's only rated for 4k60 in theory but after I'd been using it with my new TV for a few days, I reconnected it and suddenly 4k120 was working.

Eish do you even get a legit 10m hdmi 2.1 cable. I have Zeskit cables and even those clock out at 3m

That's indirectly my question as well haha. I see there are Parrot 30m/50m HDMI fibre cables that can supposedly do 4K@120hz or 8K@60hz, but I just need 10 meters.

Fair point - I don't have another v2.1 HDMI cable to ensure it works. Perhaps someone in the northern suburbs of CPT has one I could borrow?

Ha! That's quite interesting! I have tried to unplug each end at least 5 times and made use of different ports on both the GPU and TV side. It just instantly loses signal as soon as I go above 4K@60hz. Even the next option at 100hz loses signal.

I'm running an RTX3080 to a Samsung QN90C TV which supports 4k@120hz (in game mode which is enabled)

You get 20m+ 2.1 hdmi cables. But not locally from what I've seen.

After a certain meter it becomes fibre over optics or some shit. Super expensive but I reckon well worth it if you want to do a certain kind of setup

It seems like a fibre cable will be my only option for anything more than 5 meters.

Pretty sure if they are fibre they will probably work!
Too bad they start at R3300. That's crazy lol.

I'm going to do some more searching but I guess this will be my best bet for R1300 - Takealot

Not really. Plenty of options if you wanna go this route:

This
or
That

Those are great options for my required length. Unless I misunderstand the costs involved, the cheaper one will cost just over R1200 landed. Which is too close to the takealot option I mentioned. I appreciate your suggestions though!

Yeah, just make sure its 48Gbps. Then you will get 4k @ 120hz. And with takealot, at least you can easily return it :)

That 50m is insane value for money if its legit

Exactly! It's future-proofing my plans as well.
The one reviewer mentioned they got 4k@120hz to their LG C1 TV. If this is true, I also believe it is a helse bargain!

I'm going to do some last bits of research before biting the bullet. I'll post my results here - hopefully this week still.

Find me a 50m DP cable as well? xD

I managed to order the last 30m HDMI fiber cable yesterday for R970. I'll have it by this weekend and post an update when I have a moment.

Themselves and Geewiz still have the 50m ones in stock if anyone is interested. About R1300 which is a massive bargain.
