Just to add they'll either ship you a replacement or issue a refund.

It varies and depends on their decision and whether its economical to do so. Sometimes they'll refund the shipping costs up to a maximum which I can't recall. It's unlikely you'll get local support as the drive wasn't via a local channel. It does not hurt to ask Amazon first though.

Amazon will assist you if the drive is still under warranty?
