HI there I'm looking for a good set of headphones for my daughter, she is 14 years old and use them for Discord and Gaming.

I suggested something like RIG 700Hx but she says they look too bulky.

Thank you

Steelseries' Arctis headsets are pretty sleek and have retractable mics.
They're good quality and quite comfy. Highly recommend.

Don't , they have a common problem where they scroll wheel at the back breaks. Mine broke and I did research and it's a common problem.

Stay away from Steelseries

I've had 2 pairs over 6 years and have had no issues with the rear scroll wheel.

Went from Arctis 3's to Arctis Pro's ^^

I get that, we each have our own experiences but I don't think Steelseries is a good brand, and a lot of people on here don't too.
Don't want to go too far off topic here. We're looking for a headset for OP.

Just a note tho. I'm sure your experience with Steelseries was bad and that's why you've linked YOUR thread that demonizes them, but like the rational people in your thread stated, there are plenty issues with other manufacturers.

The point of this is that you can make your own recommendations to OP, but don't put down others' recommendations. We can all sit around and list the issues that everyone has had in their own experiences. That's not the goal here.

Now stop with this kak

Nice budget options I've used and liked
Razer Blackshark v2 X if you're looking for something lightweight - quartz addition if she likes pink ^^,
Logitech G335 nice and lightweight (sound isn't the greatest, but you're ears breath nice in these) - comes in cool colors :D
G Pro X (not really budget) would opt for this if you can get it for a good price, they're a bit heavier than the options above, but great nonetheless

@wernervg as you can see, this teenage girl has a Steelseries and she is very happy.

I wanted a motorbike for my girlfriend at the time. Lots of offers, apparently it was a good trade

I always find it funny when people are looking for headphones they always seem to pick computer brands. Why not look at headphone brands? Or rather, brand that have been making audio equipment for years.

So I always suggest looking at Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Sony, Beyerdynamic, etc.
They all have some Bluetooth headphones with mics.

And at least this way the headphones can be used for music/work too.

Can confirm I have experience with all three just be weary if you get the G Pros the head band tends to break
easily (they are plasitic).

Proceeds to shit his pants and goes off topic

OP is asking for suggestions, and I'm suggesting why NOT to go with steelseries, as it's a rubbish brand.

Once you have gone this route you wont look back.

Personal experience here.
My 14year old has taken every set of mine and used them, so much so that she now considers it as her own.

Astro A10 are nice starters, but the cable issue will be something to keep in mind.

SteelSeries (depending on the model) can take a lot of wear and tear.

Corsair are also decent.

Best option i would advise is get a cheap set and let her use it and figure out what she wants, then let her save up and but what she wants. Nice bonding time can be had by both parties (Meanagers can be a handful when they want to be.)

Currntly she is using a set that i bought on carb and repaired with her. Sennheiser GS310's

I would say go with rigs might look bulky but i have had a40's and the steel series arctis pros's but always went back to my rig 800's lightest feel on the head don't feel restricting like the Xbox headset I also tried.

Also a good Choice, depending on the Child. my kids are currently at the pavement pounder stage so everything must be as loud as it can be.
So quality is the last thing they want till they discover SQL/Audiophile range and then hear the music.

It takes one sentence to suggest what to or what not to buy. You took 3 separate posts to bash one brand. Did their sales rep touch you some place?

We get it, YOU don't like Steelseries. Now please. STFU.

Audio companies make comparatively better headphones on the hardware side, the issue is the compatibility (bluetooth pairing problems, audio lag, etc) and supporting software (software for eq settings, stereo and virtual surround sound, etc) for pc is sorely lacking. The exception is probably studio setups with dedicated purpose made dac and microphones like some streamers have, but otherwise for most end users generally speaking pc brands have better plug and play.

I disagree. I would guess most Bluetooth headphones have a single chip that does all of the hardware pairing, hardware decoding/encoding, etc. Nearly all major IC manufacturers have off-the-shelf Bluetooth Audio modules. It is very very rare for a company to make their own IC designs.

Reasoning: Electronic Engineer with some years of hardware design. I know how difficult it is to certify things and design things. It is easier to buy an off-the-shelf chip that does all the hardware for you, you just do the amplifier design, speaker design that you are good with.
Also, I just added Bluetooth to iPod classic by buying off the shelf parts, finding the datasheet, and butchering it to make it work.
