So , Diablo IV

So...this is going to probably be controversial but...is anybody else feeling the game and grind is kinda boring and monotonous? Not entirely a mind blowing and more importantly a new experience. Maybe just me and my lack of dedication to anything gaming these days? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
Nah, its a kak game. The gameplay itself is boring. The campaign/story was atrocious typical Fast n Furious kak writing. Honestly, it felt like a 16 year old wrote it. If I could gift this to someone I would. Alas, a few games I actually like are on my battlenet account.

Nothing, and i mean *nothing* will be able to touch what D2 was in terms of ARPG. (how the fuck do you not have an overlaying map? jisis)

I must say I prefer the rogue over the sorcerer, my sorcerer is level 37 and I have setup a nice chain lightning build that really works, but overall my rogue just rapes with the twisting blades. I only play rogue when my tjom joins me though so he ā€˜s only level 22

Honestly I canā€™t see myself playing the necromancer, even though I heard itā€™s pretty op I just donā€™t like the undead at all lol
Necromancer is fun, until you run out of essence. I'm currently level 73 with Necro, doing an endgame bonespear build (I've sacrificed my undead - meaning better buffs elsewhere). The build is incredibly strong if you're full of essence... but to rebuild that essence is very tedious and frustrating while you're fighting. The bosses that don't spawn creeps are probably the weak point of necromancer, as you build essence of corpses (corpse explosion). There is an aspect that helps with essence regeneration, but I've yet to have it drop (you can't get it in dungeons). I'd almost trade the damage my necro does, for less damage, but consistently doing damage.

Playing with mates makes a huge difference. Increasing the tier of dungeons also makes it much harder/interesting. I've noticed once your friend group hits level 70, the dungeons become quite easy, less and less coordination is required as you level more. Which then I expect to start getting boring.

I am roughly lvl 40 now, and what started initially as ambitious 100% a region before moving on, quickly became a pursue main quest with the occasional side quest or dungeon in between.

It is nothing revolutionary, it just does what the prev, games did better, and for most part the grind is worse than ever this time around, depending of course how far you want to take it.

Personally for me, the story is the best it has ever been, and the sheer scope and things to do in the world endless.
Will i be grinding this to lvl 100 on ever char of even a few, probably not.

Fully agree with @baasgene , D2 was amazing for the time it came out and the fact that we were much younger an ambitious.

Bought D2 Resurrected purely to re-live the nostalgia and based on remember how good the game was, and for most part it still hold up, i was quite surprised, but given all that , i was still only able to make it midway Act2 before i became bored and over it.

As mentioned I have a level 37 and a level 22 character and to me the grind is still epic, I really like it but also because the game has incredible sound and atmosphere (I invested well in my sound system). And I play it with a SeX controller so i really donā€™t have complaints lol

Im currently on level 62 and loving the game still. Finding a bit easy with my Rogue on Nightmare. Doing massive pulls and clearing within seconds, although the damage resistance Auras do make the clears a bit more calculated. Hopefully torment brings in more layers like this to make it more interesting.

Only ever had one night (June 8) of server issues where I was placed in a 842 minute queue. No rubberbanding and lag whatsoever. Playing on Xbox.

Have to agree with Heinrich, although the game has immersive features, good graphics and excellent sound. The story failed to pull me in.

An update to my earlier post where I had to buy the game twice because I failed to read anything about the PC version not having local co-op. Blizzard did end up giving me a full refund, credit to them for that.

If you are struggling against bosses you are doing it wrong.
Skill cycle should be Bonespear (Spawns corpse) > Corpse Tendril (increases damage) > Bone Storm + Bone Spear...
Bosses die almost instantly on my lvl 67 Necro on Tier 4...

While I run Corpse Explosion I rarely use it, unless I activate Blood Mist with a aspect that triggers corpse explosion.

I did however make the mistake to try the lvl 100 Lilith Capstone Dungeon and just got instantly nuked, but that was my own stupidity...

Also I find essence management much easier against bosses vs massive hordes of enemies, especially the invis/teleporting fuckers.

On Bone Spear make sure you are running the aspect that makes subsequent enemies damaged by it vulnerable, and for Bone Storm make sure you are running the aspect that gives you a barrier for 3% anytime it deals damage so you can get up close and personal to a boss without it just nuking you instantly.

D2R for me was just a shameless cash grab (like Immortal).
They nerfed a ton of the good builds from D2, although they did make ladder specific runewords available in non ladder games which was nice.

There was some much needed QOL improvements in D2R they could have implemented such as stash pages etc (there was a mod to do this in base D2), but instead they opted to just nerf a bunch of skills instead so that just wasn't as much fun as OG D2 was.

Yip I myself was a huge d2 fan and I downloaded a pirated d2r copy, played it for 10 minutes and deleted

While Torment (T4) has more of the shield aura bastards, your bigger issue will be the increased damage resist etc of all enemies, not to mention the sheer volume of elite enemies that have multiple attributes/buffs whatever that make them a absolute nightmare to deal with in large groups.
Fear fuckers for example cast the 3 fear auras continuously with much less of a delay from cast to activation that on tier 3, and then the frost walls freeze you almost instantly as well...

Tbf this is only a issue till you start getting some decent ascended gear.

Looking good...

Please tell me you got something decent in those caches :ROFLMAO: I was so damn excited to reach level 80 and open them - biggest scamaz of my life.
I got 2 legendaries out of each, one ancestral, one sacred (had 7 caches), but yea, nothing worth while other than being worth 1 or 2m gold...

Once you look past the hype you start seeing the qol and mechanics issues, I'm still pissed off with them removing [infinite] hp and mana potions, and completely removing mana, and restricting skill key bindings to 6 and with no option to cycle more of them on the fly like d2.

This was this way in D3, and honestly I prefer it with a much more limited move set compared to D1/D2 where you had so many skills/spells that you had to cycle through them using hotkeys.
This is also much more console friendly where you don't have a full hotbar of 1-0 that you can use.

The potion thing I get as you could get legendary potions in D3 that gave other buffs as well beyond just healing, but the cooldowns on it was much higher compared to D4.
D2 also had limited potions, based on what belt you had equipped, but I still like not needing to worry about stamina (when running), or mana potions tbh.

Legendary Potions/Gems from D3 would be a nice addition to D4 I reckon, but for now there are more pressing QoL improvements they need to make, such as larger Stash Size, removing gems from Stash, not having aspects take up inventory space etc.

Agree 100 on this. I feel like its the same ol people bashing D4 that bashed D3, even though I enjoyed D3 RoS far more than 2. I loved 2, but 3 was epic and now 4 is already great and it has a fuck load of potential.

It took me many years to get rid of nostalgia, I used to replay shit like Final Fantasy 7 and kingdom hearts at least once in 2 years. Now I couldnā€™t give 2 shits about the past.

Jeez, I need gold... my final piece of armor (boots) is killing me... it's perfect, except for the intelligence bonus on it (i'm playing rogue). It's currently 2mil for reroll on the m#$%@*r piece of %$#@^#^@ $%@% and every time I do they want to give me Poison Resist or some other #$%@%% @#$"$!!!. AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Aaaah... D2 Sorcerer with enough Warmth and a little teleport.... never walk anywhere again! Throw in no-lag, that was fun boss fights!

I personally had some issues last weekend, I havenā€™t played much recently thanks to ffxvi but I did bash 3 hours last night and it was way better.

Itā€™s a mixed bag really but definitely has lag now and then

Iā€™ve been struggling recently with latency on this game. Anyone else have this ā€¦ is there a way to improve it
Biggest issue I can see that is causing latency is the fact that their closest server to S.A is the Europe one, so when I join my boet I get 260ms avg, yet while I play alone I get 100ms ping due to a asian server being closer.
They really need to get a S.A server... Getting killed due to lag spikes is a nightmare...

Noticed significant lag over the past week. Last weekend was the log in issue, after that was fixed I noticed in game lag fairly often, say after like an hour of playing. Also noticed framedrops after about the same time, this is inconsistent but it would drop from a stable 100 fps all over to 40-50.
Teleporting to a new part of the map seems to fix both issues for me

Also noticed the frame drops, for me quitting the game seemed to help a lot.
Disabling cross play helps for the towns i found and also events.
