Definitely grabbing one of those when they available so long. I was hesitant about the adapter in the first place. I really don't like adapters lolI spoke with Wootware, and they will be getting the Corsair cable (looks like the same one Jay showed) hopefully soon:

Source : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series PCIe Gen 5 Power Adapters Have a Limited Connect & Disconnect Life of 30 CyclesWe have confirmed with NVIDIA that the 30-cycle spec for the 16-pin connector is the same as it has been for the past 20+ years. The same 30-cycle spec exists for the standard PCIe/ATX 8-pin connector (aka mini-fit Molex). The same connector is used by AMD and all other GPU vendors too so all of those cards also share a 30-cycle life. So in short, nothing has changed for the RTX 40 GPU series.
Sure there are plenty people that have had over 30 disconnects and reconnects on a cable for many appliances or electronics (let alone a gpu). But considering the power draw for the 4090 this then of course becomes a major consideration… hoping there is a reliable solution soon.
Yip.Mmm Amd 7900xtx at $999. Will probably smoke the 4080 properly so hopefully this will force nvidia to look at their kak pricing on the 4080.
Doubt. Maybe at 4K we'll see it pull ahead but with the amount of CPU bottlenecking at 1080p and 1440p and AMD's historically lower CPU overhead it has a good shot of it as well. Although 13 December is way too late with the 4080 being out super soon.4090 still the king and probably worth the price though. They should really make a 4080 Ti soon because there is a huge gap between the 80 and 90.
At that price even my green blood is tickling me, Nvidia has a good fight coming.Yip.

Nvidia has been having a fight on their hands specifically in the mid range since the 5600XT and 5700XT, people are just Nvidia diehards and will pay more for their stuff, I mean there's some reason for it but not all that much.At that price even my green blood is tickling me, Nvidia has a good fight coming.

They go on sale December 13th, so likely December 11th/12th.A 4090 consideration had me investigating my case size (which should be fine). Investigating getting a new psu (Atx 3.0 of course) and just forgo the entire cable fiasco (biggest thing is peace of mind as I’m not going to be constantly checking my cable for potential eminent melt down).
not just the card that one must consider when buying a 4090. Becomes a proper expensive exercise this …
But a 7900xtx that doesn’t need me buying a new psu or new pc anything sounds promising. Being a non R50k card is also palatable. Like to see how much slower it is compared to a 4090. Will await those benchmarks. When does the review embargo lift ?
Likely be dead by then with this current disease I have 😥They go on sale December 13th, so likely December 11th/12th.
Dibs your PC if you don't make it.Likely be dead by then with this current disease I have 😥
I got dibs on the Porsche.Dibs your PC if you don't make it.
Also, hang in there bru. Don't be dead. be lekker.
FSR3.0 looked pretty promising. DLS 3.0 currently doesn't look all that good. HUB made a good video on it.Fuck it's not easy to go red, especially with tech like DLSS 3.0. I'm hoping prices drop a bit for Nvidia instead, but I probably won't go AMD ever (cpu is sharp though)
Its amusing how many people think like this (me included).I'm hoping prices drop a bit for Nvidia instead, but I probably won't go AMD ever (cpu is sharp though)
Ah yes I just checked the vid, does seem 2.0 is better especially for 60fps gamers like me.FSR3.0 looked pretty promising. DLS 3.0 currently doesn't look all that good. HUB made a good video on it.
So I have this idea for a brilliant get rich quick scheme:

By all the cables that land in SA and ask inflated prices to all these gamers, burning there 4090s down.
Will include fire extuingisher for free in the price as well. And maybe a Ford Kuga badge.
Well out of stock, either haven't landed yet, or they have taken everything already.Scalper alert, @ThatGuyJD and @KURT_COBAIN would have been all over this if they weren't muzzled recently.

This is def going to make me hold off. I would not even trust the cablemod cable. The spec imo is fucked … I’m going to wait this one out and see where it goes (also waiting to see those 7900xtx reviews)Seems like native cables are melting too. Yet tech reviewers/Youtubers can't get these things to melt even with cracking the soldering
