Do anybody know a bank in SA from which you can buy btc in the UK/USD with a Visa/Mastercard.
I'm currently with Capitec, but they block all crypto-related debit/credit card payments, so looking for an alternative.

I normally buy via Luno, but prices oversea are way lower than SA for btc... One can also then do some arbitrage trading.

The only way to have any hope of making a profit via BTC arbitrage is to fund one of the overseas exchanges through a bank wire. Any site that does let you deposit via a debit card will charge you at least 2.5% for the premium. If you must do this you can try Cex.io

I suggest Kraken as they are quite trustworthy. They will only allow EUR deposits though via bank wire for the account you will probably be able to get. Bitcoin withdrawals happen quickly

Bitstamp will KYC the bejesus out of you and hold onto your funds for days or weeks during this period. They are trustworthy but I personally will stay very far away from them. Bitcoin withdrawals happen quickly.

Liquid.com is another option if you really want to do currencies other than the EUR ( GBP, USD ). No extended KYC procedures and bitcoin withdrawals are much faster than they used to be apparently although I haven't tested it recently.

Coinbase won't verify you unless you have a USA drivers license and proof of address. Coinbase is a waste of time in my opinion.

Any other exchange is just a waste of time. In 2017 i tried literally 20+ exchanges.

Great, any bank you can recommend?

You mean for bank wires?

Standard Bank is pretty good.

If you want to use your bank card, and if Capitec supports the merchant, then go with Capitec. They charge 0 FX fees.

Good luck with your arbitrage journey :)

I have heard of people using the capitec debit card on cex.io though not tried it myself.
