Please help ,Phanteks Ethoo Evolv Airflow mod

I did this for a while and actually reverted it because it felt like the air was spooling in the front of the case as it had no where to go. The front of the case was super warm to the touch. If I took the front panel off that probably would have helped a ton. I've also got a fat Phanteks air cooler that doesn't orient correctly due to ITX board, and is currently facing downwards sucking air from the top fans, and literally sits right against the exhaust fan at the back. It infuriates me

I'm thinking of doing this mod with an AIO for the CPU, a 240mm Rad fixed the top sucking air in, and front intakes as well.

I'd also like to reorientate the GPU like it's been discussed here as it's so close to the PSU 'basement' I'm not sure how much air it's getting..
Facing down lol! SO its blowing warm air on the GPU?

The PSU shroud has quite a few holes in it for airflow. I found that it wasnt bad for certain cards, RX580 was ok. But as soon as I went up to a slightly fatter card, 1080 there would be almost no room to breathe so a Vertical mount GPU would be much better (not sure if it would fit though)

Another option is watercooling everything. I did manage to fit a waterloop in my PC. Sold it all before I decided to add the GPU to the loop but it totally would've fit. Had to mod the top fan bracket though

Haha. The comments looked like he was offering a service.. 80 euro a panel.
I actually really want a CNC machine.. Maybe I should invest and offer a cutting service to Carb...

Edit - 80-90 euro for both panels. Dunno if that's new or he cuts it for you. His website is gone though :(
Shjoh 90 euro is maybe just for the cut? Its like almost R1500.

No harm in asking. Tell him you live in SA in a hut and the dessert is really hot so you need to cut your panel but if a delivery man comes he might be eaten by the lions in your garden. 9/10 times it works

Shit I never thought of this... :ROFLMAO:
Yeah.. It is a 1080 Founders so she's a fatty. Temps seem reasonable, but not amazing though.

Man that setup is beautiful.. Any idea what full custom watercooling like this set you back? I'd love to give it a bash but I don't trust water near my bits o_O
I think i'd feel more comfortable with an AIO and the rest on air..

Oh and FE, is it blowing air out the back of the GPU/CASE? Havnt had an FE before.

This was my first attempt at water so thats why my tubes are funky lol. Hmm cant recall price. I got parts on carb, pump/res/cpu block/2xRads and then bought tube form titan ice. I think I paid like R1700ish for the watercooling goodies. Just found some really good prices at the time.Find a block for a GPU is tough and usually expensive.

I used to have the AIO Deepcool Captain EX240 RGB CPU cooler in there and it worked very well.
Also managed to fit a kraken G10 onto the RX580 in there with a H55 watercooler. WIll see if i can find a pic of that
This combo cooling CPU + GPU would help with your temps problems

Here is a dodgey photo of the kraken G10 cooling the GPU. Bit of a squeeze but it worked. Rad sat in front

Send me your panels guys and I'll do the mods by hand for R10 like this guy...

Props to him for going for it, reminds me of my first case mods at 16.

Those are the ITX dimensions if I'm correct. My ATX is way bigger, almost double the size on the top but only slightly bigger on the front panel.

:(

well tbh, if you or any1 else can give dimensions can edit those and if you plan on mainly having your designs based on that middle part, then it should be pretty simple to just change those

I'll see if I get a chance to do all the measuring tonight and update.
Have you got a cad file I could edit?

For 1700 with all that cooling equipment you got it for a damn steal! New that wouldve set you back closer to the 4k mark.

But water cooling in the itx case is by far the best way to go in my opinion as it allows for the most amount of open air space in the centre of the case for the gpu.

I also did mine awhile ago before the pump decided to die on me

Very clean look (y)

I also wanted to hide the pump and res below but they were way to big and I had a hardrive down there.
Ye the combo was cheap, bought a few combos and sold what I didnt need.

My pump is the EK-DCP 4.0 its huge lol

I managed to actually mount the top radiator above that FAN shelf which cleared more space and didnt block the ram/mobo so much. Also had a rad on the back but then had to mount the fan outside the case haha o_O

You could also tottaly fit a gpu block in there however you may need another rad to help with all that heat

I was eventually dreaming of adding the gpu to the loop and possibly putting another 140/240 in the front but again the thermals of the case would drastically decrease the performance as that little exhaust fan cannot push through enough unless its a very high rpm fan that would make it sound like a jet taking off when youre gaming.

That pump is huge but if you got a pump top and a small 120mm res you could def mount it under the shelf but as you say the hdd is a bummer as it takes up all that space. I used a 2.5" to make sure i had the extra space to work with in the front

I found taking the front filter out helped with airflow however then you end up with a dusty af case :cautious:

Ya this case has some sweet potential but unfortunately it doesnt have great airflow. Cutting the top and front panel would help a lot.

I ended up selling and going to a larger case. Phantek p400s to try a new loop out with a funky reservoir.

This one Pump was below the shroud under the res. Still needed that GPU block and also wasnt sure how to finish the pipe going to into the res.
The main issue here was the RES. Marine glue all over the place and I actually hairline cracked the skull while I was drilling through it. Was a cool idea but not the most proctical

That res looks insane! And daaaaaaaamn thats a girthy rad 😂

On the actual constructive comment side though this isnt a bad idea to try and simple enough to do as well

well tbh, that kind of design would be so simple and you don't even need the whole panel's design
Agreed but I would rather have a full panel than just the mid section
I'll get onto the measuring when I get home.

anyone in here that is proficient in AutoCAD?

so much so that you can design a 3D model from perspective shots
