I wouldn't touch a Chev, unless it was the Lumina SS (which isn't a Chev).
Chev don't actually make cars anymore. They get other companies to do so and then call it a Chev. Most of their cars are made in Asia and lack quality, reliability and any sort of enjoyment what so ever.
The fact that GM pulled out of South Africa, leaving and sort of manufacturer support gone, makes your life a lot harder if you can't get a generic part to fix the car.
Nothing wrong with a Tazz, it's just very very old and not an interesting car but it'll do at a pinch.
Try aim for a 2 year old Polo or a Up!. I prefer the Up! but it's tiny. The Polo doesn't handle nicely but parts are easy to come by and servicing isn't expensive (from my mechanic anyway).
