For any fans of the books by Lee Child this is a pretty faithful representation of the first book, Killing Floor, we get some flashbacks to his childhood and an appearance by some reoccurring characters from the later books and it has some changes to the books which make sense in an bringing it more up to date as a modern product. The relative length of the series at 8 episodes gives plenty of time for the plot to play out and as such very little of the book is cut. Main thing it felt it was missing is Reacher's inner thoughts which often provide the context from the books.
Overall and not for fans of the book it is an enjoyable low brain activity series with humour which can be a bit hit and miss due to the sometimes taking itself to seriously and at others not. With action scenes and eye candy for both sides of the aisle playing out as an cop drama for the first season. Which is significantly better than the movies were.
Would recommend for some easy watching for non fans and for fans it's an must if Tom Cruise failed to impresses as Reacher.
