Bad Deal with @Eazytech

Description of Bad Deal:

Laptop initially purchased from @eazytech was the D15 with 16gb of RAM as well as a higher spec CPU. Once received, all packaging was good, but upon inspection of the specs, I noticed it only had 8gb, and a different CPU.

I asked the seller and it was apparently a mistake, mistakes happen. We agreed on a R700 refund, and I keep the laptop as I was happy with it. A couple days later I asked if the payment had been made, but it hadn't and he said his account had been blocked because of some transitions. He said the bank would take 2 days to clear it up and he would then send. I was generous and gave him more than a week already, and I have received nothing. I have sent through multiple messages on WhatsApp but am receiving no responses. I haven't made a bad deal thread yet, as I don't want to rush as I don't know his situation, but I would just like an update and this seems like the easiest way to get his attention.

Yep. Good luck. You might get it eventually. First time I dealt with him was trouble free. But then we made another (off forum) deal, and he had to refund me about R300. After numerous empty promises (he will pay and clear tonight, he will bring cash in hand tomorrow, etc etc) it took long enough that I blocked him and told him to GTFO. It's not the money, it's the principle.

That's a bit tough to hear. Its a shame because he seemed so quick and easy to deal with, but now this is happens so i dont know.

Sorry for posting on your thread.

Had a similar experience with @eazytech recently.

His description of the condition of a phone did not match the actual condition. After some back & forth (blaming the courier for causing scratches on the screen), he offered me a R450 discount if I keep the phone in it's current condition, to which I agreed.

Then I found out the phone is network locked to MTN . He contacted MTN, but he says that the phone cannot be unlocked:

"Morning yes the said u have to use 1 MTN sin becouse since I upgraded that phones SIM to a data package the lock still carried over only way they can remove it is if I cansel my data package which means I would have to pay the upfront cost to close it"

I'm not sure what this means: Is he still paying for this phone?

We haven't communicated since, and
I just kept the phone, and using it as is, as I needed a phone urgently.

Yes, that means it's a contract phone and if he stops paying it, it'll be blacklisted as stolen.

I no longer have him on whatsapp since I blocked his dumb ass (now I have to unblock etc).

But I have 2 numbers and his physical address where I met him twice to deliver/collect stuff. So for anyone that dealt with him and not received what they paid for (or whatever other purposes [fill in the blank]), PM me and I'll happily share it with you.

Iv been to his place in Horizon, but he mentioned he's now in Springs and about to move to meyerton. 🤷‍♂️

Its all very strange though, I met him personally many times, been to his place a few times, met his kids, his wife etc, met his mom too. He came to my place once. He was genuinely a nice friendly guy, made good on all previous deals on and off forum. Things just went a bit weird end of December to Jan.

He just replied to me now. He says that his phone wasn't working and suddenly he has become a scammer on Carbonite .

We also don't know his direct situation, yes his phone was broken so he couldnt contact, but could he have used another phone or computer to communicate, sure, so who knows. Hopefully he pays on the 1st and all is sorted for everyone

I understand that yeah, but I'm my eyes the deal hasn't ended. If he gives my money back, there isn't a direct need to leave a negative one, but if he doesn't give it exactly on the first, I will have to

Probably not, but I wouldnt say the deal was directly BAD, because he had no control over his bank, however he did have control over his communication so its a bit of a tricky one. Should i just give him a negative rating?

You're too easy to please. This deal is TERRIBLE. Besides, he's already been banned, so the rating is too late now.
