Following the RX 5700 XT review we have yet another entry using the NAVI10 GPU in the XFX RX 5600 XT Thicc III Ultra. A silly name for a card which provides the best performance at this price point par none. These days R6,000 / $349 doesn’t buy much GPU performance, but with the XFX RX 5600XT it seemingly does. This graphics card provides what I deem unmatched performance for FHD and in some rare instances QHD gaming.

FYI, using bigger font, should make it easier to read. ;)

Apologies for the broken navigation, should be fixed now.

I have this GPU and i love it , coming from a guy who has been Nvidea all the way!

Awesome GPU for sure I'm not surprised. Runs really well and closer to RX 5700 than I expected. Best value for money 1080P card I reckon.
You picked well.

Nice to see XFX getting their act together after the 5700XT THICC II debacle. Their 5700XT THICC III is a huge improvement.

THICC II was a severe oversight on their part, not sure how it even happened. The extra strict Q controls on NVIDIA GPU approval process, reduces these possibilities, but with that we pay more.
XFX has generally been on the ball, so the THICC II is the exception rather than the norm. But with 3rd version, the XFX 5700 XT is by far the best bang for buck card, period, - R8,500 at present at wootware.

Good review, me likey, me losing money xD I probably will make plan to grab one of these xD Dependant on how the month/year pans out xD

1080P ... I run mine 1440P and 3440 x 1440P

At normal 1440P , MW maxed out all the way on graphics i get between 110 and 160FPS ( Depending on scene )

But mainly run around the 120 to 130 FPS mark.

Im very happy with mine

YEah I mean it depends on the specific game. Here we have an average of 8 titles.
For instance Forza Horizon 4 runs at 89FPs at 4K with Ultra Detail setting. MW as you say on your rig is above 100FPS.
IT is also true that some games bring that right down to 40FPS.
Overall still a really good card and still best value for money out of them all I reckon.

You won't regret it. Moreover you get Halo, Resi 3 and another title or Xboxx Game pass I believe. It's a no brainer

To be honest, if not getting the games cut the cost down I would happily take that, since I have the games I play, and Xbox game pass is R15 so I don't mind buying that on its own. so if minus the games it made this like R5k, I would make immediate plans to grab this xD

@Gouhan Have you been able to test the Sapphire 5600XT at all yet?
How are the memory clocks on that? Apparently they are higher than the XFX versions?

Not yet, but we will see. I know that at least one MSI 5600XT has 14Gbps mem and more importantly it seems, a BIOS which sets 14Gbps.

The biggest issue doesn't seem to be the Micron IC's as the 5700 cards all have the same SKU code for the memory and according to Micron site can be 12,14 or 16Gbps . What I do suspect is that depending on operating voltage, the DRAM is set for either 12, 14 or 16Gbps using 1.2, 1.3 and 1.35v. Some BIOS updates for the 5600XT seem to have enabled this 14Gbps mode (which I guess matches the 1.3v VID). Could be the case with Sapphire card.

AMD's clock limits on all their cards since Adrenaline 20 put a dampener on the free performance we were getting before (1.8GHz+ clocks & mem 1860MHz +) using MPT.

How does the voltages affect the speed of the DRAM? is it literally the voltage that determines the speed? @Gouhan

That is a bummer to hear, if you roll back to before Adrenaline 20 do you still have that free access or has it been patched across the board entirely?

Just guessing it could be a vid table, where any particular voltage matches to a set of timings and frequency, that's read by memory controller at POST.
Haven't tried driver rollback, thought about it but never got around to trying. If it works would be quiet interesting to see, just how far mem and core will go.

I would love to know how to safely overclock my Thicc 3 , its my 1st AMD Card - But stock standard my Thicc 3 boosts to around 2025 to 2030MHZ

You'll not get much from overclocking the core, maybe 40MHz because of the software limit in the Adrenaline drivers. Memory you can likely max out the slider. There really isn't much else to it. Try it and let's see how far you get. Dont' need any special software either use the AMD adrenaline suit to do it.

Heya man,

Ive just picked up a Thic 3 myself and not for the life of me can I get it to run stable, even on default clocks, if you dont mind me asking which driver version are you running and what are you clocks set to?

Desperate regards, :p

Grant.

Latest at the time 20.22.1 or something of the sort but WHQL
Did you update to the BIOS on the XFX site?
