I'm in need of a Video Editing capable laptop.

Crucially the display needs to have with decent colour gamut with minimum 72% NTC/99% SRGB . I was hoping to purchase the Wootbook Pro II however they have been out of stock for months.

Item Wanted: 15.6 inch laptop | Preferably Intel ‎i7-10750H/ ‎i7-9750H or AMD equivalent | Any Nvidia RTX graphics card | Preferably 1TB SSD.
Packaging Essential: No
Desired Age: +-12 Months
Location: Cape Town
Willing to accept a shipped item: Yes
Ballpark/Budget Amount: R25 000 max

Good day, I have a Wootbook Ultra I (Model: GK5CP0Z), i7-9750H, Nvidia RTX 2060 80W, Samsung Evo 970 1TB NVMe SSD, 15.6" 1080p 144Hz IPS display, 16Gb G Skill DDR4-2400Mhz, Mechanical Keyboard, Windows 10, Proof of purchase & extended 3 year warranty with Wootware until October 2022.

As listed in WootBook Ultra 2060 GK5CP0Z Intel Core i7-9750H 2.60 GHz Hex Core 15.6" Full HD (1920x1080) 144Hz NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6 Gaming Notebook - Wootware

I am interested in selling it for R20 000.00. I shall send you a PM with my contact details. Please respond if you are interested and would like me to send you photos and additional information.

I am not sure the screen meets your exact colour calibration requirements. I am very impressed with it's colour gamut in gaming but have no experience with video or photo editing.

I am quite confident but will need to confirm that it has the same display panel as listed in the following review where the review unit was tested to have 90% sRGB (Argyll 3D) 59% AdobeRGB 1998:

Lets start here:

1) What software(s) will you use to do the editing?

In my limited knowledge of vid editing, you will want a Nvidia GPU if the software can use the CUDA cores etc. Also AMD/Ati drivers seem to be far more problematic than nVidia, which is the last thing you want on a production / income-generating machine.

I edit all my projects in Adobe Premiere Pro. I have the All Apps subscription so have several other applications installed too.

I agree with you regarding AMD cards. As mentioned in the description I'm searching for a laptop with any Nvidia RTX graphics cards since they're optimised for Adobe applications.

The price does indeed go up considerably, the max spec (2TB M.2 NVMe, 32GB DDR4-2400MHz, Windows 10 Pro, 3 year warranty) comes in at R38,305. However I think one will still struggle to find a new laptop with comparable specs for that price.

At least for now, before RTX 3000 series laptops are released.

Thanks for all the replies and PM's. I managed to find a great deal on Amazon for the Asus Zephyrus g14 at under my budget incl. Shipping and importing. Would have loved to wait for a 3000 series laptop however this little guy should be great for a few years.

Here's the link to the seller. Also be sure to change the currency to USD instead of Amazon's ZAR conversion rate at checkout. It saved me another R500 😊
